I'd ban it, but only because it's optimal in theory. In practice I don't really care that much, though it should be avoided if possible.

It would be extremely foolish to train for both a short sprint (eg, 100m) and an endurance run (eg, a marathon) at the same time since they need 2 different qualities (power vs endurance) and even energy systems (more anaerobic for the sprint and more aerobic for the endurance run). I feel that perhaps the best way to race-mix is to train for races using completely different things, like maybe both a marathon and NASCAR
