i dont think it will be directly after god valley but i think the response to god valley and the following destruction of everything from the void century will end up being the thing that pushes dragon over the edge. but we wont get more info about dragon till its his time to shine i think.

speaking of which its kind of neat how dragon ended up forming the revolutionary army with kuma and ivankov and ginny after they were all at god valley together but on different sides. between that and dragon being the one who saved shanks

dragon just seems to be a constant contributor to saving luffy even if he is not directly there. i wonder how much of that is on purpose and how much is just luck on luffys part.
 
I’ll admit: it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify Garp’s continued involvement in the marines. He’s gotta have something more than “he’s nice to the same people Luffy is nice to,” to stay above board.

Would "Is Planning Military Coup against Imu" a justifiable? That is kind of what my bet is on. It makes sense why he would want Ace and Luffy to be Marines if he and Sengoku were planning to overthrow shit once Ace was high enough ranked.

I’m pretty confident the story is setting him up to be the force behind SWORD and/or an inside man for Dragon, either of which would be sufficient. But until then we can only speculate.

my theory is that him and the rest of SWORD are just going to become the new admirals once all the current ones are defeated. garp is such a legend in the navy that i imagine when more of god valley is revealed to people he will have to be the guy to confirm it and that will be the thing that causes the split in the navy between loyalists to imu and people who side with luffy or garp or whoever.
 
I'm becoming increasingly annoyed at how God Valley has basically just turned into a simping competition between the Roger and Rocks pirates. All most of the people there care about is one woman that doesn't even like any of them except Rayleigh.
