What do people here think about the Pirate Folk subreddit ? Personally while a few of the meme posts there are genuinely funny most of that sub is just pretentious Reddit Midwit nonsense disguised as " intelligent critique" .

Nigga that’s called the progression of a story arc. That’s also ignoring that this is a nonsense statement that basically implies there’s no point to the series at all. Truly a 95 IQ take pretending it’s 120.
 
Late, but to comment on the whole "Luffy's important lineage" thing...but it's not like that's helped him. He wasn't born some mega badass because Dragon is his dad and Garp is his grandad. He was a crybaby as a kid and he had to train for a decade before he became a force to be reckoned with. He had important family, but is still an underdog that had to work hard for what he got.

Also I love how this chapter's big reveal was practically a throwaway detail at the very end.

I have yet to see anyone there pretending to be intelligent. Although, like all subreddits, they tend to have a superiority complex with regards to memepiece and the official one piece reddit.

Its not the worst r/freefolk derivative, but it gets repetitive and sometimes they cling too long onto bad jokes (ex. Oda being a pedophile apologist).

r/freefolk is probably a trashfire nowadays anyway. Last time I checked, they privated r/fuckolly, which was the single funniest subreddit on the damn site.

I get One Piece isn't perfect and there's things to criticize, but I swear they just nitpick anything at all and make it seem like it's the biggest deal ever, and will just use retarded logic to shit on Oda. Like Nami was hesitant to electrocute S-Shark from the inside out, but she hit a kid back in the Arlong Park Arc (to save him) so clearly Oda just doesn't know his own characters. And somehow people just swarmed in to agree with that. And like Stab said, they're obsessed with Oda being a pedophile.
