I thought that was a thing like Sanji being a simp where the biggest aspects of that don’t come until much later. We still have yet to get to Boa Hancock, whose whole thing is fanservice and fawning over Luffy.
I mean this is what Alvida wears when she shows up in Loguetown. Obviously it's nothing compared to the current fanservice, but it's always existed.

Even still, that's just a thing where you can just make that a non-issue by having Alvida button up her shirt, or just explain that as a bikini top, like a day at the beach. I'm just thinking of later down the line, where Netflix is just at a loss for words, where they have to figure out how to make Oda's design choices make sense for filming and making relatively grounded characters, assuming they even get that far.

Yeah, like Boa Hancock is meant to be the most gorgeous woman in the entire world, so they have to find the sexiest woman they can to play her. And honestly I'd be surprised if the series got much farther than Water 7.

I get you’re kind of joking about Boa Hancock, but there’s also guys like Whitebeard who’s supposed to be a massive hulk of a man who’s 21 feet tall.

The designs? No. People generally now hate the skinny female designs and the expressions characters make when angry/shocked. They've wanted to get rid of them since those "fans" jumped on the bandwagon. Live action is their way to get westerners on their side of what THEY WANT the series to be told in a more darker -not goofy way as it should be.

I wasn't joking. I mean I know they're not going to find a woman with huge titties that are always halfway exposed to play her, that's just what they should do if they wanted to be accurate.

You'll excuse me if I don't pretend like Oda's mystery box bullshit has some deep meaning.

I get that the entire series is a giant cock tease for the One Piece, but the "Luffy's dream" sequence is an especially annoying example of Oda's terrible mystery box writing. Luffy's dream allegedly drives his every action throughout the series and, most importantly, now in the endgame. It would be nice to know what that dream is NOW so that when Luffy is inevitably faced with a dilemma, we'll know why he makes the decision that he does. But Oda, being the hack writer that he is, is going to have Luffy make the decision and then retcon any inconsistencies in Luffy's characterization with flashbacks to the "Luffy's dream" scene.

I'm not usually down on the series, but all the mystery box/man in shadows/"HE IS COMING" bullshit is so goddamn tiresome.
