Also we've finally resumed Loki/Harald's part of the flashback. Harald taking out his grief over Rocks's death on a petty giant thug did not do his cause for peace any favors.

Awesome chapter. Also, Harald is a self loathing faggot that dammed his whole nation due to how much of a piece of he shit he felt like after betraying his best friend. FAGGOT got what he deserved and Elbaf giants should have murdered him the moment he came with that shit. I will gladly accept top hats now.

Loved the scene with Dragon and Garp.

And I wonder how much could have been avoided if we avoided this back and forth of Luffy wanting to release Loki and the giants saying Loki should remain chained to a tree because Loki is BAD NEWS and Luffy just goes “lol no he isn’t” and the giants are left to think “oh my God, this guy is an IDIOT!” when it comes to Luffy.

If anything, I am really looking forward to getting back to the present.
 
Harald is the new worst Flashback Fuckup. Oden, was merely annoying, stupid and overglazed, Harald is an outright piece of shit.

Also, giants other than Loki and Harald are such huge wimps that it is not clear why Imu-sama gives a shit about enslaving them, or how they got reputation of warmongers. Their whole island feels like a bucket of plot coupons. The designs and the visual concepts are great, but the underlying story is not interesting. Loki is yet to become anything more but another "do you pity me yet?" Robin wannabe.

Basically, Xebec and some side characters are the only good things about the Elbaf arc so far.

my main issue with Harald is that Ida really didn’t do anything other than talk back to him. I just don’t care for her. There needs to be something to her other than bland ear pulling and nagging. She ruined Elbaf with her pussy and polluted it with her inferior genes! The Elders were right to get that stuck up bitch who gave birth to a demon baby.

I’m pretty sure the idea is that Imu just wants to have a rampaging horde of giants that can be mind controlled to crush anyone Imu wants crushed, along with having the libraries and schools of Elbaf burnt to the ground because it probably has some talk of Nika or the prophecy of how Imu will be defeated, along with Void Century material. And last I checked, the mission is looking to be accomplished in every way. Honestly, I’m willing to start thinking if Oda has written himself into a corner with how much the God’s Knights have been wrecking shit and achieving their goals in Elbaf, with the only thing keeping this from becoming Naruto Shippuden is that Oda has pretty much made it clear Imu is at the top of the food chain when it comes to power.

As for the story, I’m gonna keep saying that the “Luffy trying to release Loki” thing is really starting to drag IMO. And the one hope for Loki to return to being interesting is if the flashback actually returns to being about him, or at least we get back to the present.

That's where he shoulda stamped his foot down, really. His stubbornness in adhering to tradition complicated his personal and political life, the renegade lifestyle of his past is echoed in the giants he's beating the shit out of in the present, and his complete subservience to the WG got his only human friend killed and is going to lead to him getting Deus Volted in his own home, then murdered by his own son. The problem was never that Ida pussy whipped him like some people are saying, it's that he kept trying to join Imu's "HUMANS ONLY" club while being a true and honest giant. Imu doesn't want biggers in his kingdom unless they're about to be sent out to trample the opposition.
