Given how Harold reacted to Rocks death, I am wondering if he is about to try and take out the Elder Stars and Imu. Him telling Hardjun and Loki to get along kind of makes me think that he isn't planning on coming back from this bit. It's pretty clear Imu wants the giants as servants and he has a pretty good

I am curious if Rocks told Roger and Garp anything as he was dying, I am gonna wait for the official translation to be sure but the way Rocks phrased his goodbye and the fact that Rayleigh and Gabben got in and out with Roger and Garp and got out without Garland noticing makes me assume that there was a bit of time between the final blows and the God's Knights showing up.

God’s Knights have been wrecking shit and achieving their goals in Elbaf,
The God's Knights have gone against the Bench, Once Luffy, Zoro, Jimbe and Sanji actually show up then we will see if the God's Knights outrank Kaido's forces. Sides Gaben is here and he fucked up a Knight despite being old as shit, he gonna show the Strawhats how to subvert the Regeneration.

IIRC, Jimbe was part of that group the God’s Knights were able to capture.

You ever think it’s more or less a coin flip if the non monsters of the Straw Hats get to do anything impressive in an arc?

Harald is the new worst Flashback Fuckup. Oden, was merely annoying, stupid and overglazed, Harald is an outright piece of shit.

Also, giants other than Loki and Harald are such huge wimps that it is not clear why Imu-sama gives a shit about enslaving them, or how they got reputation of warmongers. Their whole island feels like a bucket of plot coupons. The designs and the visual concepts are great, but the underlying story is not interesting. Loki is yet to become anything more but another "do you pity me yet?" Robin wannabe.

Basically, Xebec and some side characters are the only good things about the Elbaf arc so far.
my main issue with Harald is that Ida really didn’t do anything other than talk back to him. I just don’t care for her. There needs to be something to her other than bland ear pulling and nagging. She ruined Elbaf with her pussy and polluted it with her inferior genes! The Elders were right to get that stuck up bitch who gave birth to a demon baby.
Wow, this is one of the takes of all time! How do you even function in the world? You think that Harald was a Chad when he was wrecking innocent civilians? No, he was a gangbanger with a crown. If he had a darker skin color and the exact same attitude, you would call him every slur ever. Ida told him to stop acting like an "urban youth" and get his shit together because that attitude is not going to have good consequences. Do not forget that before Harald's changes even took root, the Giant Warrior Pirates were captured by the WG and Carmel had them spared as a gesture of good will. Elbaph might be the strongest nation but even they can be overwhelmed by humans or famine. Remember, if it was not for Harald's friends, the Giants would have been wiped by the famine.

Harald choosing to abandon the warrior culture is a mistake but so is keeping the war mongering. They should have established themselves as protectors as opposed to merely killers. Also, when it comes to allying with the WG, you have to remember: Harald did not know he was making a deal with the literal DEVIL! He thought he was just making an alliance. You guys forget that Imu is unknown by the general populace and so is his status as a demon.

Last time I saw a blue haired character in One Piece…was Vivi.
Has it been that long? I have the feeling you super forget someone.

Oh well RIP Jimbe, he demoted to Usopp tier.

There was someone else I was thinking of that had blue hair who was important but it's slipped my mind Also Franky's apparently isn't Natural according to Grok.

I probably am.

Only other one I can think of is Nani’s sister Nojiko.

I certainly haven’t. And dear God, is it a pain to know we’re gonna have to wait a VERY LONG TIME before we get any resolution to something like that.

Ok, here's the key"
Makes sense especially to when you realize Garp's position as "Hero":

He really can't leave. He knows waaaay too much to be allowed to walk.

Even helps explain the "Change the Marines from the inside" mentality seeing how he's trapped.

It is also strategically sound, train Luffy and Ace to be Admirals under Kuzan, have them do a military coup.

What other force can really stand up against the God Knights outside of the Yonko uniting?

The question would be who could actually stop him. Garp is at that point probably the strongest "normie" in the Marine. And if he leaves he might split the Marine in two. But yeah he really thought he could train a generation of Marines to follow his vision. And on the other hand he can just call the Tenryubito shitheads and no one dares to lay a finger on him. I wonder if that actually gave Dragon a bit of breathing room. Like "don't you dare touch the son of the hero of the Marines". I bet a few years in the future we get a fully flasehd out Dragon backstory. so far we only know he build his own small mercenary unit and also had probably several talks with Vegapunk. I would bet he searched for the survivors of God Valley and asked them to join him

It also allows him to use his rank and influence to protect good marines, so they don't get screwed over for doing the right thing like Dragon did.

so two things in this chapter interested me. first harold deciding to become a government cuck almost feels planned. like i have a feeling harold knew this would end poorly but wanted to buy time for something or someone to show up. i think his death will end up being because of loki saying something about rocks in front of one of the gods knights when they come to visit harold.

that aside the other thing that i find interesting is how rocks describes harolds devil fruit ability it reminds me alot of shirahoshis power to control sea kings. maybe loki really is the sun god. but less nika and more the actual sun and the reason he was chained up where he was was not to punish him but because his ability allows him to melt all the ice and reveal an army of ancient giants or something like that.

Even if he could be stopped, the aggressors would have to come from outside the Marine forces. The only Marines willing to attack Garp would be in a position higher than his own, I doubt Kizaru or Ryokogyu would give a shit if the 5E told them to light up Garp, or if Akainu was told to do it himself. That's a very high profile fight you're looking at, and Morgans has eyes and ears everywhere. I doubt any non-Admirals would be able to take Garp down, and good luck convincing the foot soldiers to kill their hero. Blackbeard's gang could have done it if BB really wanted to.

It is not even a matter of who would. Who could without getting maimed.

It took several of BBs Captains to put down Garp and he wasn't even going for a kill. Imagine if he was going in to kill as many pirates on beehive before he went down.

@Tetragrammaton

Harald is a simp. We had a good simp flashback with Kuma (who continuously proves to have never earned his suffering) and now we get the naive retard simp willingly becoming a little gay faggot slave. Kuma’s only mistake was not continuing the Buccaneer bloodline, Harald’s was getting with a theatre kid giant who hates their culture and makes him hate himself.

I am holding off on judging him quite yet, if only because we don't see where this goes and Elbaf did not become a member of the world government and Imu is currently having to threaten children to get his Giant Army.
