I really feel like that may what’s gonna end up happening, but the reason why we only have it as Ivankov’s speculation is because it’s so tied to all the mysteries, much like Luffy since the reveal of Gear 5. Also, since there’s Imu being in shadow, I have to think the op op fruit technique did something to Imu’s appearance.
i just think it makes sense given how doflamingo was looking for the op op fruit for himself and doflamingo and imu seem to have similarities to a degree.

the fruits technique doing something to imu's appearance might end up being the case as well maybe the theory of imu having lilis body is correct because the way to become immortal involves giving up your body to whoever you choose to become immortal which is why they say doing the immortality thing results in the users death.

I don't think it is The Op Op Fruit, I think it is..whatever the fuck Imu has that is the source of the Deep Sea Covenants given that when Imu took over St Saturn in God's Valley..Imu caused the Black Markings on Saturn's Awakened form to come off his body and attack.

That is some fucked up shit yo, also does anyone think the name "Deep Sea Covenant" point to this not being a Devil Fruit since Devil Fruits are hated by the sea.

I thought that was Doflamingo talking about combining the fruit with “the treasure of Mary Geoise” and using that knowledge to regain Celestial Dragon status.

I am leaning towards whatever powers Imu has being the "First Sin" of the sea that caused the sea to loathe anything to do with Devil Fruits. Maybe something like the first deal struck by the devil and the sea that went poorly?

Here's a theory, Imu did jump bodies but not Lilies. The treasure of MG is an artificial body, sort of like the original Pacifista and the secret of immortality is body swapping into the artifical body. That's why Imu always appears in a shadowy form, that's just what the body looks like.

So that would make him a homunculus or golem, essentially.

I can dig it.

was he? i thought he just wanted to become immortal so he could kill everybody and become ruler of everything below mary geoise.

this would be interesting since there does seem to be an interest in clones and artifical humans going all the way back to MADS with judge eventually making germa 66 and vegapunk making the seraphim you also got guys like dr hogback and moira making zombies. though i still think the treasure of MG is an ancient weapon

i could see some type of artificial body prototype being a thing though or maybe even a clone? or lili herself was transferred into the body but the body itself is similar to a seraphim in that it needs the mother flame to function. which if true would mean imu had to choose between using the ancient weapon to destroy lulusia or bringing back lili.

It would be so funny if Imu was a Okama
the crashout in the fandom would be fun to watch
what if imu is actually ivankovs long lost distant relative and thats why he is being kept hidden because his head is absolutely massive and he is far more gay than any of the other okama.
I’ve always had it where the treasure is something that relates to Imu’s powers, and The One Piece counters it.
i think the one piece is more literal and is actually the one piece of something left that imu needs to complete his world. not exactly connected to his powers but something that he requires to declare himself the true king of the world like a crown? i mean if you look back joyboy had the strawhat and that same hat somehow found its way to roger and luffy almost like a crown.

so maybe thats what laugh tale is and the one piece in general. its the kingdom of joyboy or D or whatever but its something silly maybe like a treehouse? or something that goes back to the days when luffy would play with ace and sabo.

An ancient weapon? Like an undying and unstoppable golem? That Imu is now inside of.
o his powers but something that he requires to declare himself the true king of the world like a crown?
I think a crown would work thematically. We know JoyBoy was the first pirate but what if he was also the first king of the world or possibly a member of the royal family of the ancient kingdom. You could have him symbolically throwing off his crown and putting on a simple straw hat to show him rejecting the thrown in favor of freedom.

yeah thats exactly what im thinking. it would also fit given how much luffy and joyboy seem to be similar. luffy has already shown he has no interest in power or control. he just wants to be king of the pirates because he sees it as the ultimate freedom.

all that aside davy jones has to fit into all of this somewhere as well. him and joyboy are for sure connected somehow given how imu reacted when rocks asked him who he was scared of more.

I realized that there is a chance that Diable Jampe might be a pun.
