Casting is different from costuming, which is likely going to happen with Boa for "practicality". Good on Nami's actor for wanting to stay loyal to the look, really. Wonder if that means there may be breast prosthetics later on lol. (Who knows.)
At the rate the series is going, they may have to recast the more human Straw Hats once the timeskip happens, if it ever goes that far. Luffy's actor is going to be well into his thirties by the time that happens, and no one is gonna buy he's only meant to be 19 as just one example.

I gotta say this about the live action show... the amount of heart that it has makes incredibly infectious. It's like a sweded show made by honest fans who have the skill to build sets and utilize their college film degrees without being corrupted by industry standards.

Sucks that it's like 2 years per season. It's addictive. It's charismatic. It's embarrassing. It's a guilty pleasure.

Makes me want to actually get into the anime. According to AI math if I start now with 2 episodes a day I'll catch up to the teaser for the third season.

I got a good laugh when the not-gay but clearly gay chef found their dossiers and they had artsy art for the characters and photo for the race swapped character.

Hard to go wrong with Chad Giants who just want to drink and fight.
Giant Bros are as cool as they can be
Just wanna say I can't stand people who only got into OP because "the fights are lit" then you see them whine about "pacing" because their shounen battle anime actually has a story it wants to tell. Not saying Comic Drake is this type of person in fact the video makes the case of what makes One Piece so different.

A rare phenomenon to see nowadays. It is rare to see creators worthy of praise as well.
i'll be honest i do like the atmosphere around the show even though i still have my issues with it being live action. At least Oda is proud of the work that has gone into it and there seems to be little to no contempt which i wholly agree is rare nowadays. This is what these hollywood western types should be getting from this show if anything just respect the source and stop treating the fans of it like they're an inconvenience.

Exactly. I genuinely feel that every cut was painful with OPLA. There was never the impression that changes were made because the showrunners thought they were better than Oda.

I was upset about Don Krieg getting reduced to a cameo, but it makes sense in the context of a live action series that has to cut the first 100-ish chapters into thirteen episodes. I'm sure if Netflix didn't clamp their nuts, they'd do a lot more than they're able to.

Admittedly, live action One Piece looks expensive as fuck to make with all the sets and VFX work. I can understand even Netflix getting sweat around their collars with that budget and wanting to keep the season slim.
