To be fair, I think American viewers would lose their shit if they learned that Imu spoke like Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's in the original Japanese version.

If the Human Human Fruit does have special bonuses against The Imu Imu fruit then I think we might have soft confirmation that Garp and Sengoku were planning a military coup. It can not be coincidence that he has the strongest Human Human Fruit we have seen until Luffy was revealed to be Nika.

I'm down for the idea given that the Rocks part of the flashback showed they at least wanted to change things from the inside, but realistically it was probably never going to go down. Garp doesn't have near the influence needed to sway a shitload of Navy sailors to the necessary line of thinking (SWORD agents aren't going to cut it in a numbers game) and Sengoku got way too bogged down in his duties (like how we're seeing with Akainu right now) to actually enact any real long-term change.

You are missing the biggest thing that kicked Garp and Sengoku in the face.
Ace and Luffy went to be pirates instead of Marines. I think Garp's original plan was to get Ace as an Admiral, use Sword to get him to Laugh Tale and then reveal that Ace is the heir to Gol Roger

Even if they joined the Navy instead of sailing as pirates, it wouldn't have played out that way.
Ace was almost nothing but angst over his relation to Gold Roger. If he'd come to the same conclusion about his place in the world in the Navy as he did on the execution stand, that's it, he's not following any plan because he no longer cares about anything Roger related (Garp pretty much shot that one in the ass day 1).
Luffy definitely wouldn't given two shits about any plan. He'd be Garp's clone and if something bad enough happened to prompt it, he'd probably quit like Dragon did before him. Then potentially end up as a vigilante pirate anyway (a la Romance Dawn V1/V2).

Oh no the Plan is cooked from the start because Ace and Luffy, but I can see how Garp and Sengoku would come up with it. The Marines are easiest force to keep gathered together and the Admiralty + Garp dropping the bomb that "The Empty Throne is a lie there is a King that has been ruling with an Iron Fist" would probably pull the "True Justice" believers along .

this makes me wonder actually. if sengokus human fruit also has the ability that choppers does. that being said i think garp and sengoku will most likely end up leading some form of rebellion in the marines i also could see kizaru joining them.

And spoilers are out with the Imu reveal.
The biggest news drop really isn't Imus facw reveal but who he saw as threats which showcases yonkos and pirate king level characters but there is that one small detail which showcases Shirahoshi as a baby next to them. This is why I am not entirely convinced yet that Imu is the final villain even if he commits a major ass whooping next chapter for oda to hype him up. It's the fact Blackbeard will have 2 of the 3 ancient weapons because Caribou will tell his crew where the other 2 are from the egghead arc.

so yeah its looking like the gods knights or at least sommers has a heart made out of wapometal or some other type of tech maybe from the ancient kingdom? as for imu his fruit just seems to be THE devil fruit. so maybe his fruit was the original and all the others are copies similar to SMILE fruits?
though it could just be a translation thing who knows. leaving the castle seems to hurt him as well so maybe imu deals with an even more aggressive version of the devil fruits curse where even being low enough on land is enough to weaken him majorly?
all that aside i think imu looks pretty cool in his awakened fruit form though i am curious what his normal form looks like. he almost looks like a lunarian if you ask me. makes me wonder if im not that far off with my theory that nerona imu is just the current host that is being controlled by the devil fruit.the monster form he took while trying to kill sabo did look pretty similar to the demon thing fighting nika after all.

Looks like Ivankov called it! And I think I called it ITT in regards to Imu being a shadowy blob because Oda was waiting to reveal the design. And apparently it was made of Conqueror’s Haki. My only thing is that Oda revealed Imu earlier than I thought he would. My guess is Imu is just going to destroy the place in a rage. Or at least try while Luffy is out of commission.
