Ivankov did say that Imu was from the old days and got the life operation from Law’s devil fruit. And I guess all that’s left is to confirm that.

It’s probably going to be a win for Imu or a stalemate, since the idea is to show what kind of threat Imu is, and probably to show the full power of Loki. And then we’ll get some stuff about the state of Elbaf as the state of the world and that should end the arc. As for “nullify Luffy”, I’m not sure if we get that since 1. That’s too connected to the endgame and Oda probably doesn’t want to reveal too much too soon, and 2. I think Imu will fuck off after fighting Loki since that’d deal with the Elbaf threat in Imu’s mind. Also, Luffy is still out of energy so any big things surrounding the lore can be explored since Luffy doesn’t know or care about those things and will only go after Imu once Imu captures Vivi (probably).
I don't think that first part was ever said? The OP theory-crafters certainly don't seem to bring it up ever when discussing Imu's potential immortality.

Fair points, but another important part of showing how much of a threat a big bad is comes from atomping Luffy. Crocodile, Lucci, Katakuri and Kaido were all memorable thanks to kicking Luffy's shit in round 1. if Luffy just goes Nika, yuks it up a bit, then deflates kind of how it went against the gorosei, it won't really imprint "you are out of your depth boy" and the series really needs some of that back.

And wrecking Loki is not enough, we barely know him, the "main support character" of the arc getting shit on is just not the same as Luffy getting beaten for the first time as Nika.

Though a part of me really wants it to be Teach. Luffy at his freeist facing against the fucker that indirectly killed his brother and who can steal Luffy's freedom with a touch... but that kino is likely still very far, so I will take what I can get.

i think we will get less luffy getting shit on and more luffy being faced with what is essentially the full potential of his nika powers but evil. the only reason luffy and company wont all die is because imu will be dragged back to the castle somehow thanks to some unseen time limit or whatever.

New chapter's been scanlated.
/dbs/ is going to have a fucking field day and probably invade several other boards because of this chapter.
At this point, Global Rule 15 needs to be enacted on Dragon Ball.

So far all I can see is one small thread already on page 10. Seems they didn't do a good job of it.

Hm... probably not the first one who had this thought, but I thought of it just now.

If the fruits, as Vegapunk claims, are built from the 'dreams' of those from the ancient past, what if Imu can't tell those things apart? He yells at Joyboy not because someone here has inherited Joyboy's will and he's just continuing the fight because he's crazy and assumes it's the reincarnated version, but because there's some of their soul/identity inherent to the power, and that's what Imu sees? So for example, it's not Imu calling Loki Nidhoggr because he's got Nidhoggr's power and he's projecting, but because the fruit itself is and has always been Nidhoggr and he's the only one who CAN see things that way?

I'm still thinking that this fight will wrap up in the next chapter, especially since Luffy is now wolfing down food to regain energy. Also, I think Loki will survive to be the new man in charge of Elbaf (if it's still standing that is). Also, some of the spoilers noticed Imu has the same eyes as Mihawk and uses the attack Mihawk did against Luffy at Marineford.

Ohhhh SHITTTT!

edit: Nevermind, apparently Loki can be stabbed through the heart and just be okay to fight on. Rollin my eyes, way to suck meaning from that otherwise awesome panel.

edit 2: Both Imu and Nika can change size, surely someone with one of their fruits left the giant sword on Elbaf long, long ago?

interesting chapter. seems like luffys inner nika is really making him eat i wonder if being near imu is waking up more of nikas power. also its starting to look like imu and joyboy were rivals or maybe friends in the past. im thinking they were both crew members on davy jones ship. which is where imu got his interest in being king of the world from. they had some form of disagreement im guessing imu wanted to become king of the world and have absolute power over all things where as joyboy just wanted to be free and see the world. imu ended up eating the devil fruit which further corrupted him and joyboy got the nika fruit.

its also worth pointing out that dracule means son of the devil im pretty sure. so between that and the eyes its possible mihawk is at the very least a member of the nerona family though him being imus son would not be too surprising when you consider roger had ace and rocks had blackbeard and both of them have entirely different names than their parents. it really does make me think the one piece world is just trapped in some type of endless cycle that keeps happening over and over similar to naruto.

I agree that there is some sort of cycle that keeps happening with

"Government is evil"
"People rise up"
"People overthrow evil government form new one"
"New Government becomes evil"

Imu is trying to subvert this cycle by making it so that the real government in the world is completely hidden and Lili fucked that up with the Poneglyphs and now Imu has to crack down on anyone who found out about them and he is using the "Evil" Celestial Dragons as a distraction.

That one makes complete fucking sense though.
Yeah, but it's still something that was not deemed relevant to the plot and without the sbs, it would at best be a mildly popular theory. With how the pieces are set up as of now, I just don't see how Mihawk being related to Imu would be relevant.

Not Relevant Yet...but once the world order falls apart..Senior Pink is gonna escape impel down and gather up Queen..then find Franky and in the party after the final battle we are gonna get Franky, Queen and Pink doing the Zoom Zoom song.

Assuming I'm not being too autistic,
would the Navy & Marines either being destroyed or in open rebellion severly weaken Imus Omen?
