its starting to sound to me like the various gods people speak of are just sounds personified which eventually became devil fruits more or less. nika the sun god with the sound of the drums of liberation and now zaza the rain god with the sound of falling rain there is also the forest god and i think the earth god. the people of elbaph and skypiea seem to both share an interest in calling things gods which makes me think we have been getting a closer look at what life was like in nikas time since the beginning.

also dragon totally has the zaza fruit. the whole storms appearing out of nowhere when he shows up thing proves as much. zaza being the thing celestial dragons fear most and dragon being the leader of the revolutionary army proves as much.

all that aside looks like its time for sanji and zoro prove themselves again gunko just being declared dead is interesting as well i wonder if its because shes trapped in ice or the result of imu controlling her body.

betting that jimbei gets some action next chapter against zaza while sanji and zoro deal with the other 2. Loki is going to get his ass kicked, for luffy to join later.

Another example is Igor from Persona 5. Never played the games, just something I heard of. For Persona 5, Igor's original VA was dead and had to be replaced, the Igor in the game is an imposter and speaks regularly and I guess that's how they got around this mindset. Because once the real Igor is found and saved he just goes like "Oh, I'm very tired of my ordeal so I'll just be quiet" and doesn't speak for the rest of the game, or at least very little.
This is the exact thing I want to talk about when the VA subject comes out (and I am familiar with this subject).

For context Atlus/Sega mostly used recorded voiceclips for Igor in both the Persona 3 movies and in Persona 5. In Persona 5 he has "new voice clips" but those were from an impostor. In Strikers and Tactica he's simply given no screentime whatsoever, Lavenza says something like "he left" or "he's not able to intervene" to explain his absence. It's not until the smartphone gacha app Persona 5 (and if I remember correctly Persona 3 Reload) where he has a new Japanese VA.

Could be that Davy was the first to have the Nidhogg fruit? Was it said that the Warrior God was the first to have it?
If at anything he could be the second assuming if the Warrior God (likely the King of Giants during the Void Century) has Nidhogg and fought Joy Boy, and Davy came after Joy Boy. And for all we know Eblaph is one of the few independent states that the World Government cannot effectively conquer without making too much noise and unlike Skypiea or Wano, Eblaph actually drives them berserk.

I think that they are real monsters, this is a world where monsters do exist but are mostly forgotten in later chapters and giant snakes and boars are called "gods" and sometimes actively worshiped. There isn't too off of a chance where a couple of these can literally change worlds and use magic.

Also I'm 99% sure Imu is one of those Gods himself and 70% sure that the Forest God is Davy Jones, so they might not be completely named after sounds either.
