Yes? I directly stated that fact.

But the Oars fight is irrelevant to the Moria fight because The Strawhats weren't fighting Oars at the same time as Luffy was fighting Moria and Luffy bodied the holy fuck out of Moria as soon as the pair actually squared up.

Saying that the Bird Cage was the only reason Don Flamingo did not just get mobbed by Zoro, Sanji and Luffy is no different from saying they could have ganged up on Moira. Or Lucci if we go further back.

They actually could not have Mobbed up on Lucci because Lucci was actually a match for Luffy, which was kind of my initial point.

Mingo and crew were kind of just fucking posers.

Oda has had a long habit of not just writing off what prior fights or difficulties do to the crew's fighting ability. You can go back to Arlong Park for the primary example with Zoro not being at 100% due to his fight with Mihawk.

For the aftermath of Thriller Bark Kuma specifically points out when he attacks the crew that they're not on form after the fights they've had before dropping the paw bomb and taking most of them out in one go. Which will predominately have been the Oars fight since the others were nowhere near as draining.

Just because the Oars fight was done does not mean there was not an aftermath from it.

Now to be fair because it's shounen they also stood and watched Luffy fight Moira because that's how it goes.

They couldn't have mobbed up on Lucci because they never had chance to. They had their own fights/obstacles to handle which had they ignored would have had consequences. Just like the Birdcage.

Your original point was Don Flamingo couldn't beat Luffy. He did. Luffy's power ran out (a common theme for him) at which point multiple people had to assist to prevent his death. Saying that Zoro or Sanji could have stalled Don Flamingo if they were there is true, debatably at that point they might have been able to finish the job, but that still is not Luffy beating Don Flamingo on his own.

i thought it was pretty obvious doffy is not somebody you wanna fight with a team because of his ability to control others. so unless zoro or sanji happened to find a way to become immune to that the fight would have turned into doffy going "haha straw hat im going to make you fight your friends but this time instead of bellamy its your own crewmates"

that aside before the time skip especially after they got robin back luffy had begun to outpace almost every other straw hat to such a degree that even kuma pointed out that he would almost certainly die if he was the only one handling the big fights.

which is another reason why they dont just mob everyone now all the training they did during the time skip was so that they could all hold their own against whatever was thrown at them rather than just hoping luffy handles it.

While plausible if he could just puppet anyone that means they can't really put up much of a fight either. I think the only time he bothers fighting through someone aside from when he was doing it to torment people was using the old spring fellow. Who, let's be fair, at that point was far enough below Luffy combat wise that it was just Don Flamingo doing it to be a dick.

Did we ever get confirmation on how inanimate objects eat devil fruits? At this point it really can’t be a “Vegapunk” discovery anymore.

Also, I’m all for yakuza boss Jinbei being ready to merc some people on top of Brook’s swordsmanship actually returning to plot relevance. Get Chopper to awaken his devil fruit or something and the Grand Line half of the Straw Hats will be pushing peak status.

Oda said that when Vegapunk was introduced into the story that we'd find out...but I guess he just forgot.
 
I'm willing to bet it'll just be something goofy like making a smoothie out of the fruit and just pouring it onto an object or something. Or just smacking the fruit into the object so hard that it somehow just absorbs the essence or some shit.

Given that Vegapunk got credit for the Dog gun, i am betting the ancient kingdom knew how to do it and he got the idea Ratoskir.
