Slight powerlevel but I've rewatched the entire thing so many times I used to recite jokes from memory. I liked Matt's part in the playthrough.

It's a shame that this doesn't include the chat lobby segments at the beginning of the videos, those had to be cut and the episodes were reuploaded to appease youtube advertisers

I decided to try out TOME because it looked fun in the LP/dev commentary, I'll give a brief review from my 2 hour gameplay
Plot/dialogue
+The 2006's loud=funny humor is less present here than I thought it would be and its surprisingly bearable
-the VAs trying to have euro accents are annoying, that girl who plays the "looks kawaii but she's actually a psychopath" characters are the worst imo.
-the retard strength goblin knight guy will annoy most people (personally I learned to ignore it)
Battle system
-the basic combo attack timing needs more explaining. I'm constantly experimenting between when to mash or the timings- and I still haven't figured it out.
-when you use the magic skill, it would be helpful to have a visual preview on how/which button to press rather than a wall of text. A small still image in the corner would help.
+most of the action commands are alright.
+the battles are balanced pretty well; I was initially turned off by the no leveling up system, but it actually makes the game difficult enough to have challenges but not too easy to the point where you get bored.
Overall the battle system has a lot of potential, just some minor tweaks and I think it be really great. Mostly adding some momentum and weight in its animations/timings can help so each hit can be more satisfying.
UI
-for some reason the equipment menu is the only menu that's 'slippery'. Whenever I move around it feels like its skipping over 2 boxes. Equipment from what I know is crucial so that your characters won't die from bad stats since there's no level up system.
Visuals
+Character designs are okay. Nothing too offensively awful, unless you find early 2000's flash cartoon character designs unbearable then you'll have a hard time.
- There's some visual artifacts on the portrait animations when they move their mouths, saw it alot with the skater hacker guy.
Overall its decent game for $20. Buy it if you have spare cash but no must-have. 5.5/10
