Looks like Ding Dong lashed out at Bowblax for streaming the edited version of his stream. Other people joined in, saying Bowblax should have contacted Ding Dong before commentating over the edit, as Bowblax didn't even know the original stream was 15 hours long.

This whole drama has been frustrating to watch. Lot's of moral grandstanding from a bunch of literally who's.

I think things would have honestly been different if Ding Dong had access to a therapist. Idk how the South or whatever area he's in is like when it comes to mental health stuff, but if he spoke to a professional, it wouldn't have came to this.

While I do like that he wants Julian to be with him too when he goes on streams just to have his back and everything, codependency in a relationship isn't healthy at all and could affect his mental health even worse (like that one guy here who said DD got very sad when Julian said he was gonna go sleep or somewhere else).

What ultimately is the issue for him is that he seeks negativity as well. Purposely looking for the negative while being surrounded by positivity. I do feel like he has the mentality of wanting to be a victim and never wanting to get better or grow as a person. And when people give him that negativity, he runs with it and both wallows in pity and/or does this whole schtick of "UHM GUYS DON'T DO BE BAD BE GOOD".

You can't tell a large group of people these fucked up things that someone did onto you and not expect people absolutely want to come after whoever but then turn around and go "yeah they may have fucked my wife, took my kids and took my job and chopped my cock off, but they're not bad people don't go after them". People are going to want to lynch them. It's not a "it's the internet"; it's human nature. When someone you like a lot is being hurt or has been hurt, you want to go after whoever it is that caused it.

This is something I think about quite a bit on this subject. Will Tough Bippy even close to end up being worth the years and years of drama and bitching? I bet 6.5 is a very good guess on it's quality, while DD is knowledgeable about videogames and critical of crappy ones we see time and time again critics fail in their medium of choice as bad or worse than that which they critique. On a more sinister end, I wonder if slowing the production down could be a purposeful choice. When (if) the game comes out I'd reckon it will not be a high seller and with no carrot on the stick the Patreon is sure to dry up. Games like Pizza Tower in similar style, funding and small staff have been finished in half the time and you cannot go 30 minutes in a DD stream without a woe is me moment about finances... just makes me think.

On a side note, how will Tough Bippy and Bowlbo compare in quality and release date? While DD is way more passionate about videogames than Chris, the creative people Chris has around him makes me think it will end up making Bowlbo more fun overall though I suspect both games will be bland in overall gameplay.

Bowlbo, 2024 at the earliest. Bippy, maybe 2026 if we're lucky. Chris did the opposite of DD where he went and got help from the start, plus he has a stable schedule to work on it. There's an old story post on his Instagram where he said he works about 3-4 days on Bowlbo and then 1 recording OneyPlays or something. I think it's clear from the 13+ hour rant streams that DD hasn't had good time management skills for a while. They get bogged down trying out other things to help with development which don't pan out (Wan Wan TV, the pirate game, the Halloween stream, etc.) Health problems suck and aren't their fault, but it's strange that DD says "support drops whenever we mention them so we try not to" because that just sounds like a straight up lie - he could mention needing a prostate exam on stream and some autist will drop $500 for him to go get fingered.

Bippy's first test build plays really nice so if the overhauled build is the same or even better, then great. Bippy's style also looks cool, but without seeing more of the game, I don't know if it's going to be any more memorable than other fast paced platformer beat em up games (ironically, Cosmic Boll comes to mind.) What set Trigger Treat apart was Julian's style and designs. The dude's love for Halloween was on full display and you can't really replicate that in Bippy's setting or get it elsewhere.

Bowlbo's similar cause it's full of Oney's style. Specifically his 3D art which has it's own brand of playfully demented compared to his usual art. He's made it clear he values games feeling fun to play so I hope Bowlbo reflects that. From the trailer alone, the gameplay looks about what you would expect so I hope he adds enough stuff to make it unique to play - stuff like being able to ragdoll down hills like at the end of the trailer - but not bog it down completely.

Take my opinion here with a grain of salt but you see a ton of people like ding dong trying to make it in games, albeit most arent nearly as skilled as he is. Opinionated (and dare I say bitter) people who don't play nice with others don't make it very far in game dev. Ding dong COULD get a publisher tomorrow whether it be via his connections or from some kinda deal but I guarantee you that it comes down to not wanting to be told what to do and not wanting to have to receive input on how to make the game.

Take this with an even BIGGER grain of salt and a "I Am Not A Therapist" but ding dong strikes me as a person with severe anxiety issues and poor coping mechanisms for them. He's from Chicago iirc so I doubt it's a cultural thing that's stopped him from getting professional help, it probably has more to do with the Dingus Duo lacking health insurance.
