It does come across as him doing “the nuclear option”, so to speak. Nothing else he did to try and help Mark worked, this was the all-or-nothing, last ditch effort, and he was probably going to get raked over the coals by some people for doing so, but he felt it needed to be talked about.

I'm not surprised, just disappointed it was real. Veronica has a pattern with men she talks to or fucks where whatever interest and hobby they have, she bases her bland personality around.
