he did mention working on some sort of animation when asked if he was doing anything of the sort. Would make sense if that's what he means, even though it's probably the thing everyone assumed to be holding it back. But I also heard that Ding Dong was reverse engineering how the cutscenes work in YIIK a while back so this project of Chris's might be unrelated
 
really enjoying this. just chris, tomar and zach having fun with a big stupid AAA IP game that seems to be like 99% quicktime event

i kind of feel as if 3 people is the perfect oneyplays number tbh

Off-Topic but i recently took a lenghty train ride (In dear ol' Sweden) and in the seat in front of me sat two weird fellows, turned out (they talked really loud for the whole time) they were both Irish and both sounded and seemed just as retarded as Adam, like trying to figure out wich month comes after April, if there was "Foookin' Snoooow??!" on a roof that were clearly just a white painted roof and such, it was fun listening in to but i got kind of baffled over how the school system must be "Over there".

it's a combination of his brain already being a beautiful thing and spending some of that sweet sweet outube money on something really good over in LA. everyone was fucked up when they made sleepycast so i'm sure it's no different now.
 
Never got around to the YIIK episodes, by why is that playthrough so special? Why would the finale need to be some big event?
 
When Ding Dong and Julian came back to play a few games with Chris, YIIK became the highlight game for them and the fans. They played the game to its entirety, but they haven't released the finale video on it yet because they're doing extra content to go with the video.

YIIK is one of those games that are so bad that it kinda got an ironic cult following, kind of getting unironic after the oneyplays playthrough, and people started to like Alex for how shitty he's written
So for the boys to get to the end of the game and stop it there people were hoping for a finale (the game still gets even more retarded after where they stopped) and all three of them kept saying "something's coming" for the finale

i agree with all the points above. i think the fact there were SO many oneyplays yiik episodes really got watchers invested in the playthrough.

to me there is really no point in releasing the finale, because the hype now built up around it is so absurd. what are they gonna do, polygon render the boys to have them run around a greenscreened YIIK world, like some AVGN skit? i think it's far more on-brand for oneyplays just to never release it and continue promising it forever.
 
Earlier I was watching some Julian and Ding Dong era videos I hadn't seen yet, and came across what is now one of my favorite videos from the channel:

The Bobert O'Neil bit near the end had me in stitches.

I hope they play more bootlegs at some point.

Also watched their Mad Panic Coaster video. Shame this game never got ported to the West, it looks fun. Might try it on emulator someday.

And while rewatching their Grinch video, I can't believe I forgot this gem of a line:

DD: “I am the one whose wearing two shoes”
Chris: “Hitler didn’t kill that many jews”
 
One thing I enjoy the Julian and DD videos a bit more is that they have more obscure and esoteric games. Its like you get the awesome chemistry and exposed to interesting games.

Yeah, that's what really confused me, that they need to "do something" for the last episode. As far as I recall, they never "did something" for any finale save for the creepypasta bit at the end of Pokémon Red. Made me think their YIIK playthrough was somehow super special outside of the game itself being so heavily shat on by the internet.

I think its because its almost certainly the last DingDong and Julian video on the channel, their last contribution to the channel they helped grow to what it is now. Now the fact its taking over a year to come out is likely more due to schedule conflicts and the fact the idea probably grew since they originally filmed, maybe it will never come out and it will just be a running joke on the channel, who knows?
