Having to read the degeneracy that surrounds Oneyplays tangentially is the part that saddens me about this thread. Good to know that Julien, DD and Cory are all fucking degenerates, but I was happier when I didn't.

Got to respectfully disagree here. Adam's brand of retardation is a lot more chill. Corey on the other hand goes on his tardrages which I find annoying. I am amazed that the Dark Souls series with both are working so well though.

if i could archive the stream i would but i promise it's BORING. heaps of non-specific promises about the game being good, the coding being basically done, non-spicy tangents about how internet = bad, and lots of toejam & earl gameplay.

people in the chat said toejam and earl was boring and slow and d-dangdangdang criticized their taste.

i guess they're trying to raise $$ to pay musicians for the soundtrack for their rhythm game.

Is it just me or is it not a good idea to develop a rhythm game when you don't already have someone or some people to make the SOUNDTRACK? If they were smart they would've gotten Oney to make a track or two. Then they could've gone back to Oneyplays to promote it. But what the fuck do I know?!

i tried to watch this second stream (why did they switch to a new stream? idk) but the giraffe-car racing game has only one song on the soundtrack and after a couple dozens repetitions of it i had to tap out. anyway looks like they are making decent money at this, and i'm happy for them.

i still think trying to fund a game you want to make by first creating a whole different game you don't want to make as much seems like kind of a rube-goldberg-machine way of doing things, but i also know zero about game dev stuff whereas DD seems to have studied it obsessively his whole life, so i defer to his expertise on this matter.
 
I have no idea why, but that Mario Kart clone with a giraffe driving its car reminds me an awful lot like Atari Karts.
No, this is not a good sign
