I think what makes Cory so insufferable now is Chris and Zach refuse to tard wrangle him like they used to. During the Sleepycabin days everyone on the show knew he was an autistic and if they didn't shutdown his rants he would drone on and on so they stopped him. No one stops him anymore. He's allowed to go on 10 minute long painfully annoying and unfunny rants that derail the episode. It doesn't help that he is almost always 100% wrong in the shit he gets upset about. Like it's total nonsense retardation. It's also pretty clear that he knows the rants are popular with the general audience so they come off as more forced than anything now.

Cory also will ruin the mood of anything horror related which is a huge negative for me since those are my favorite series. He just totally ruins the vibe being a loudmouth retard.

Cory requires a neurotypical person to keep him in check for him to be funny. He needs a Lyle or a Jeff to tell him to STFU when he gets too stupid.

lol i got heavily negrated in this very thread a couple years ago for asking this same question. it was like october 8 and the month's uploads were 1 sonic vid and 2 "best ofs." but apparently boneyplays does not follow our gay mortal earth-calendar

Generally I think corny games or games that are very atmospheric and just let them play, like Witch hunt or Visage are really good for Boney Plays so it'd be nice to get stuff like that too.

Lyle is the worst of the persistent hosts even if that still makes him at least ok most of the time in videos.
What I hate is his frequent LA ball washing on Twitter. Recently I saw him saying that people who talk shit about LA are just bitter washouts who couldn't make it and I just find that really gay.

Dingdong and Julian loves to start projects and just shelve them for no apparent reason. Not only do they have tough bippy and the rhythm game in development but also some kind of pirate game, and some half finished fetish vore games (three of them I think?). There is also that cartoon network resort reskin that was done but never came out

They had a prime opportunity to play this one, several times, when it was the Zoomie Game Of The Month and had that Witch Hunt one-man-charm. It's a lot more polished and elaborate now, which I do feel takes away from the experience of watching people figure the systems out with just zero clue as to why they're getting ghosted.

You know who could stop him? The editor. The editor leaves those segments in, because it's the best material they've got. Which speaks a sad bit of volumes for the current state of things, but eh, there's always highs and lows.

The problem is the majority of the Oneyplay audience enjoys Corey's rants. People even make animations of them. This encourages the editor to keep them in and encourages Cory to keep doing them.

That is probably because the majority of the audience is underaged. It's just a matter-of-fact for any LP channel, really.
I don't actually think Julian was being paranoid when he had his freakout about most of their viewers being actual children.

Judging by the socialblade, the strategy pays out. So I hate it, I don't watch it, but I see why it's being done.

Honestly was mostly thinking it'd be fun because I feel everyone would be more prone to getting spooked if they were all playing together online and also the potential for VR is there which would be a lot of fun.
I really don't know how the game has changed since release but if it's too gamey then that'd probably ruin it.
Same reason I wouldn't want them to play something like Dead By Daylight. It's Spies vs Mercs with horror theming, not really a horror game.

True but Lyle and Jeff are the only people from the Oney PLay's crew who really get on my nerves when it comes to how they use social media.
 
I disagree the majority of Oneyplays fanbase is underaged. If I had to guesstimate I would put it maybe 35-40% of the audience being preteens and kids. I think the majority of their following is young adults to early mid 30s. I found Chris and Zach as a Freshman in HS in the early 2010s through Hellbenders and have been following since and I think a decent amount of their fanbase has a similar story.

I think what makes it seem worse than it is is just how genuinely chronically online most kids are at this point, as well as the bizarre way they consume content.
I've seen kids (16 or 17) on Twitter talking about how much they totally love Oney Plays but were hoping Chris didn't say the fag slur.
Pretty confusing since you can hear many censored and uncensored faggots, especially during the DingDong and Julian era.
I soon realized that these kids were Let's Play channel secondaries and didn't actually watch Oney Plays at all.
Minors seem extremely likely to engage in fandoms without actually touching the source material and this even extends to Let's Plays..
