DD&J have been getting $6K per month for at least a couple years now. People have brought that up when they stream and DingDong always gets really upset about it. So that's my guess for his latest thing.

It's why DingDong has burned up so much sympathy. His paypigs only know him from streaming because that's all he's ever produced. He shits on let's plays and the people who enjoy let's plays without a shred of self awareness. He's not a game maker until he actually makes a game.

I still enjoy the guy, but fuck if he isn't a whiny little bitch.
 
It can't be just the Dream daddy drama that mind broke DingDong, right? Something must have happened behind the scene afterwards to really sour his views towards YouTube fans and the internet in general, right?

I would really love to see what would happen if that Patreon money suddenly dried up. They're so dismissive about their OneyPlays days, despite the fact that 100% of that income comes from OneyPlays fans. They would be nothing if they hadn't done those let's plays. They will never make a game. Blippi it will be stuck in this constant cycle of redoing art and code, because they are miserable people who will never be satisfied with their creations. As such there will never be a final product. And the Patreon money gives them the perfect environment to continue this constant pursuit of perfection they will never reach.

The fact that they have made half a million dollars over the past seven years by doing nothing infuriates me more than I'm willing to admit.

I'm as much of a perfectionist in these kind of projects as these two, and knowing how these things go, they probably have like three working mechanics or concepts and jack shit of anything else. It's possible they have a lot of art finished, but not all of it, or even halfway.

He knows that he doesn't deserve that much money and isn't providing shit, it's why he's always upset at big donations.

That said I haven't heard anything of Bowlbo either.

The Dream Daddy shit was bad. I think it was the first time the Internet affected their real lives.

The problem comes from both Ding Dong and Julian trying to "set the record straight" every few months. They vaguepost like Julian did, or whine like DingDong, and a bunch of fans start talking about it again. That's not youtube being shit. That's people seeing what they're saying, asking for the context, and being told about the drama from people who know.

They want everyone to be on the same page but don't want anyone to take what they say and make drama content off of it, which unfortunately I think they just have to accept as a consequence of becoming well-known individuals. I sympathize with wanting to put the notoriety genie back in the bottle while also doing the projects they want to do, but at this point they'd either need to go full "off-the-grid" with a different company and legal names, or embrace their adopted Youtube audience and their support while understanding there will always be rotten and/or parasocial people within those groups.

Also, if their goal is making games, aren't they also indirectly hoping for more notoriety that will give them support? Either way fame is a consequence of success, and it's disheartening to see they still can't cope with it.

Edit: The video was a 12 second clip of Chris standing at the edge of a bog wherein barely visible fish swims away from him and he makes a comment about knowing that there are fish but he can't catch any.

This is pretty much why my patience ran out with them. Extremley well known Chris took in some literal whos and gave them a very stable income on top of the free exposure and all they seem to do is complain about it. I wonder if they realize how their entire grift is only possible because of OneyPlays or if they have so much dissonance they actually think they earned it otherwise. That amount of money earned from it also annoys me, they should go hang out with YandereDev since they seem to have similar work proclivities.

On the topic of DD&J, the last time I payed attention to them was like half a year ago or more when DD was streaming like every day and he kept saying "Oh, we're really close to completing some rhythm game, it's almost done! It's gonna be out soon, for real! It's gonna help fund Bippy! It'll be out any day now, all the programming is done!". So... have they released that game, or is another Trigger Treat or all their other projects that go nowhere?

So that's what happened to Chris. An Irish bog hag got him. I knew they were an issue in Ireland, but I never thought he would get snatched by one. RIP Oneysephiroth.
