I feel like if Chris had gone to bat for Shadman we'd all know about it and it would be pretty infamous. I could see Cory doing that though since he's a fellow porn artist.

Yeah I might be misremembering Chris defending him for something else, JohnnyUtah might be a fag but I'll always give him credit for refusing to even talk to that freak on sleepycast.
 
I have a vague memory of Cory defending Shad on twitter years ago but it was before the criminal shit and also prior to him drawing the porn of Keemstars daughter. Sidenote I can't listen to the episodes of Sleepycabin with that guy. Just a creepy fuck.

I always wonder how long it took them to go from "haha he's an edgy fellow newgroundser like us what a scamp" to "oh my god he's actually just a pedophile, none of this was a joke :cryblood:".
 
I don't like the episodes very much with Cory. Whenever Cory's around, weird sexual stuff always becomes the primary conversation topic and it feels gross to listen to.

When I was a teenager, I thought he was just an edgelord and only drew those things for shock factor, plus several people that I liked also followed him (Count Dankula, Bamanboi, etc) so I figured he must not be that bad. I also was a staunch freedom-of-speech/expression libertarian and thought that banning drawn CP was infringing on that. I didn't like it though (or NSFW in general for that matter). I also remember the one time when Smash Mouth retweeted some of his fanart and then later removed it stating, "Yeah, we just saw his other "work". There's something wrong with that guy lol"
 
I initially found Shadman on his artsite in middle school and my friends and I thought he was some kind of freak, only to soften on him when he became a regular on the Sleepy Cabin, he was really good at playing to people sympathies. Though he was still around a bit after sleepy cabin, showing up on Lyle Streams or Oney Plays (Very Early), I really think the Keem Star/Logan shit really sunk his ship with the Sleepy Cabin fans
 
Most of that Newgrounds crew gave Shadman a pass because 1) he was apparently very nice to them in person (you can see how he puts on this agreeable act when Colossal Is Crazy asks him to take down the art of Keem's daughter) and 2) as GratsTheat783 said, the peak of Shad's popularity was that edgy era of "free speech at all costs" for even some of the most morally reprehensible shit, as a kneejerk backlash to the wave of SJW retards from GamerGate.

So you'd have a lot of seemingly "normal" creators (e.g. ElvisTheAlien) throw their support behind and use the art of Shadman in their videos on the basis/principle of free speech, only to quietly deny they ever supported him when the pendulum swung back the other way in recent years (and especially after Turkey Tom's video called out a lot of them).

A lot of ecelebs followed him, people like Ricky Berwick, Bella Delphine, Elvis the Alien, and a lot of others, probably including ones that vocally disapprove of loli now. Back then it seemed like a part of meme culture to follow the guy. This is a phenomenon that should be studied, there already was clear evidence that this guy was a fucking creep yet people just ignored it and saw him as the funny meme guy.
 
I never understood how Shad got popular, even ignoring the content I always thought his art was extremely ugly, Did he seriously only get big because he had famous friends and was a "Meme" kinda?
 
The only good (very small) contribution >shadman did was the donkey kong 64 creepy pasta they made on the spot in sleepycast.

Like the others, I also thought that shad was just trolling and being an edgy retard for attention. a coomers' political opinion is worthless.

That's what's so annoying about DD, fag has talent but his perfectionism and mental illness will stop him from finishing his projects. I hope he completes it.
Also I love how it's clearly inspired by cartoon cartoon summer resort, loved that game as a kid (despite getting lost so many times trying to complete game tasks)

This is based on these old flash game from Cartoon Network's website.

I'm super nostalgic for this and really lots of those old flash games. However, I could've sworn Ding Dong announced this long before. The earliest tweet I could find is from January of this year. So I did some digging and found this art from 2022 proving I'm not crazy.

It took Ding Dong 2 years to make a flash game from early 2000s.
 
Ding Doing needs somebody forcíng him to finish his shit. He's clearly unable to recognize when things are "good enough" which is one of the most important talents a freelancer needs to have in order to succeed.
