Why are we using Twitter language here now? The parasocial argument is so lame and cheap, you can apply it to basically any instance of someone being a fan of someone.

Anyway, I’m off to watch the new video my best friends at Oneyplays just put out. I love that they make these videos to communicate with me personally.

honestly, i'm just curious about how bowlbo turns out because playing a tons of games doesn't make you a game designer. I've done game design for a hobby for 10 years. it's something you really only get good at through an education or through brute forcing it with experience like I did.

Chris not having any formal education that I know of and immediately jumping into making his first game ever is an extremely easy recipe for some dogshit.

i am pretty doubtful nightmare cops ever comes out. bowlbo is a maybe.

however i'm more 🌈 about DD&J after summer resort, which was quite polished for what it was.

when was summer resort originally conceived? please correct me but i think it was like... maybe three years ago, as a throwaway to complement a different abandoned (wow, imagine that) project. if DD can get that done, there's hope for trigger treat eventually, maybe after tough bippy -- or before it as a means of procrastinating the main project.

am i right that "the pirate game" was folded into trigger treat?

I have hope they'll get more done, especially now that Ding Dong might feel emboldened by some sort of success. I haven't had time to play Summer Resort much yet, but I'm a bit confused with the art direction they took. I imagined it'd look more like one of those highly polished Newgrounds games, what with how they flaunt their artistic capabilities, but the colors seem a bit too dull and I'm not sure about the style and scale they chose. It reminded me of less impressive Armorgames stuff like Ratmaze if anything.

That said it seems pretty fun. Its interesting that they included so many references to games that they specifically had played in OneyPlays, I thought they were trying to downplay that.

I'll fucking say it, ding dong and julian sucked. I'm tired of pretending they were some golden age of Oneyplays, when they were just riffing off of others.
Corey fucking sucks too. I just watched Skinwalker Hunt (again) and once again, as soon as Corey starts fucking babbling about 2.5 seconds of invincibility or whatever you can tell he just won't shut his fucking mouth about it.
If DD and Julian were good it's because of Oneyplays, and for them to act like Oney was terrible, is the definition of biting the hand that feeds.
Now with the shadfag bull shit and that Corey is a literal tranny loving faggot that also draws porn, I can only wonder what comes ahead.
Chris will have to cut ties. But I think he'll do it slowly and won't make a big stink out of it.
Take for instance the Vanoss people. Mini Lad gets fucking shit talked all the time. All while Nogla and Terrorizer say they don't want to comment.
I don't see Chris and Lyle and Tomer shit talking old partners.
Partly because you fucking know Chris has said nigger 100's of times.

It's no stretch of the imagination to think that if Oneyplays catches shit, so will Zach.

ETA: I could see Lyle talking shit but not apart of the Oneyplays brand. Tomar is too professional, Chris doesn't give a shit as long as he's good, and Lyle is just a douchebag.
Oh and Zach can say "fuck you goodbye" to Oneyplays now. I really hope he doesn't because I don't think the channel would survive at this point.

To summarize Julian feels as if his time on Oneplays brought too much attention to him and Ding Dong which caused them to lose their privacy which they both value, people overused jokes to death, people aren't interested in him as a person but as a caricature of a person.

I was always under the impression that they just didn't like fans getting too parasocial by digging too deep into their personal lives or whatever. From what I can tell that only really came to a head when that faggot dating game Egoraptor's studio was making pissed them off.
 
Ding Dong had his homosexuality exposed to his very religious parents (someone literally call and told them) by game grump fans so I kind of understand why they have some issues with the fans lol
