I said the golden age of Oneyplays was when Zach and Tomar were regulars on the show in the late 2010s not that modern oneyplays is better then the ding dong and Julian era. The quality of modern Oneyplays varies wildly depending on guests.

i wasn't referring to you specificially, just jerkin chains. julian was a hell of a coomer during their vids too.
 
Yeah Julian had a bit of a creeper thing going on. I remember there was an episode where he mentioned he was saying he'd fuck Matt from Supermega and he walked in while he was saying it like who says that about their own friend?
 
I can't remember a time Julian was actually funny on purpose. Most of the humor I got from him was that his laughs were usually kind of funny. Chris and Ding Dong did all the heavy lifting back then.

He was self-aware about it too and would go "sorry I'm not funny guys" like once an episode and it felt cringe and uncomfortable

I love those moments for how awkward they make everyone, the only thing better is when Chris or Tomar try to reassure Lyle that he is funny and apologize for not laughing at his jokes, you can hear him fucking die inside every time they bring it up lol.
 
crash bandicoot 2, f zero gx, and a lot of the kingdom hearts stuff are still probably the funniest things to me on the channel after all these years. i will always be able to go back to those and die laughing

I don't usually "diagnose" the group and try to spot hidden drama, but I remember one weird bit was Julian doing a George Lucas impression and then Chris did one. So Julian just goes "Yeah, dunno why I tried, you do it so much better" and he sounds like, sincerely dejected. Probably reading too much into it but still.

 
Ironically, Julian was a decent straight man in the group. It worked well with Chris' random humor and Ding Dong's deadpan delivery.

I do think Tomar generally does a better job at this role, but I think it comes from a place of self-confidence that Julian didn't have at the time. That being said, I think Julian sounded more self-confident in the YIIK-era of let's plays.

Julian largely was not overtly funny during the ding dong and Julian era it's something people tend to gloss over because Ding Dong was so funny. I don't think that ever really hurt the videos though since he was mostly in the background. I will say though when he came back a few years ago to do the Yiik playthrough he was noticeably funnier then he had been before and way more comfortable making jokes.

His humor tended to be less "punchliney" iirc so it's hard to remember specific bits
 
Dingdongvg is currently rambling on Twitch about how his almost decade long vaporware is worth funding.

It's amazing how this ungrateful snarky cunt thinks he could actually fund his multiple abandoned projects without Oneyplays...

Also, I sincerely doubt he's ever refunded a single donation above $50 like he always claims he does...

These pair of grifters were saying 9 months ago that their little rhythm game was ready to release any day now, but I can guarantee that it won't see the light of day by 2025, if ever...

My understanding was Julian also got really disturbed at the idea of being a gay role model or marketing icon for kids (remember when they sold plushie dolls of him?) as he considers himself a pretty flawed human being.
 
Cory and Lyle have been to involved in Children's entertainment during the Machinima years to ever warrant a "maybe I should step back from this, I am a bad person", Though I think they should make Cory spend an hour a day not talking about Porn or Sonic, and slowly raise the time long enough until he can go three-six hour's or recording before degenerating into his two hyper fixations.
