lyle not beating the "lowest tier guest" allegations. there should be a feature for patreons or something where you can individually adjust the volume on each participant. that way i can sit through playthoughs without having to hear this:

Chris & Zach is obvious. Most naturally funny and their powers only increase when they are together because they've spent 15+ years together shaping each other's autism.

A:
OneyPlays DingDong has just the right mix of humor, sarcasm and specific knowledge and interest that he was really good 2nd to Chris during his run. It's hard to believe he is actually such a miserable, whiny bitch now. Tomar isn't really stand out on his own, but he is the king of supporting characters. He enhances pretty much every bit by either going along with it properly pushing against it for comedic effect. His presence is never a negative and also he just seems like a really nice, down to earth dude (when he isn't committing his iconic genocide).

B:
Lyle is fine, even really good at times, but he just isn't really that funny or interesting and is inconsistent. He feels like a guy who thinks highly of himself when he's actually the least impressive person in the room, I get this from both OneyPlays and his solo stuff. He does have a underrated talent on OneyPlays though - he is the best person to actually have playing the game since he is the most competent and will keep that on track. Julian is like a weaker version of Tomar, a supporting character who isn't nearly as good at allowing the stronger cast to shine but does seem jovial and likeable. Like DingDong this applies to his time on OneyPlays only, now he sucks.

C:
If you look back in the thread you'll see me being a hype man for Adam, but as time passed I've cooled on him. When he was new it was nice to have something different and his stupid guy energy gave some good fodder to play off of as well as contributing great stories of his escapades However, once his stories ran out he has a hard time contributing anything meaningful since that boy ain't so sharp. His primary role is to be the catalyst for others to start something, but his reactions aren't that great usually. Cory is at the bottom because like a lot of people I think he is great in small doses, but his shtick is to repetitive and grating to be the most common guest in the last year or two. He broaches the same coomer topics over and over while screaming and being stupid ad infinitum. You really need Chris and Zach to both be there to get the most out of him because they've known him the longest and exploit their familiarity with him to basically derive comedy by making fun of and frustrating him which is unfortunate due to Zach being mostly unavailable now. He doesn't go well with the other main hosts and only the uncommon Dave visit gets him in better shape. Just way too much Cory, send him back to Philly for a year or two!

I would put Cory in a tier below Adam, but otherwise correct.

One of the nice things about Oney Plays is that there's playthroughs of nearly every host combination (aside from no crossover between DD&J and the Newgrounds guys) so you can gauge not just how good each host is but how interpersonal dynamics affect the quality of the episode. I listened to Game Grumps for about the first 5 or so years they were doing LPs and I always disliked how rigid they were about combinations. It felt like some pairings they never tried (mostly ones without Arin) would have been really funny. I would have killed to see an episode with Jon and Dan or recurring series of Dan, Ross, and Barry.

There's only so much slow retardation that I can stand with Adam. He is harmless, but I'm pretty much at the point where he's tested the economy of my patience. At least he isn't often on recently, but then again its a trade off with Cory who I cannot stand the presence off. Ya win some ya lose some.

Bad news for you, on a stream recently, Tomar said Cory will be around soon and they'll record more stuff (which means all the Cory stuff from recently has been from a previous recording batch).
On the good side tho, one of the things he mentioned they'll probably record is more Phucker in the Ashes.
 
Sometimes Lyle is more painful for me to sit through than Cory. I don't know why, I think it's because his sense of sarcastic humor doesn't always come across the same way Zachs or Chris's does. He has his good days where he can riff well with the others but he definitely struggles with initiating the jokes and following up on improv. He's at his best when he's not trying to say a funny thing every second he can inject a joke in. Cory says funny stuff all the time unprompted but it's he's too much without Dave or Zach helping Chris out. I don't mind the LPs Cory's in if Tomar and Chris are with him, and Lyle. I really liked Scary Stories and Gates to Hell thanks to that combination.

Will always hope for more Phucker in the Ashes. I have a feeling they might have recorded more but are sitting on the footage to space it out the same way they did with Life is Strange. The latest episode was recorded 8 months later than the first few episodes but we only got it about a month apart. Unless Chris just waits another 3 years to say they scrapped the whole thing like they did with the YIIK finale. Though with that one I'm personally convinced it was set to be uploaded but Ding Dong and Julian decided they want full separation of Oneyplays so that any newer viewers don't bombard them with requests to continue guest appearances.
 
Kind of also related to the Rating Chart but also what you just said, I find that although Lyle (and Julian) aren't too funny on their own, Chris and Zach riffing off of them has lead to some of the funniest little bits. They might not come up with the best stuff on their own, but they'll go along with some ridiculous bullshit to build on something great.
In contrast, Ding Dong is funny on his own but will shut a lot of stuff down (or try to, to comedic effect). And in contrast, Cory does the same thing a lot but it is almost always just annoying rather than funny.
 
julian is kind of like stavros from cum town (but less gay somehow). he doesn't contribute a whole lot but he was obviously fun to be around for the others, and the others were more confident and funnier as a result imo.

I'm hoping we get a Chris, Zack, Lyle, and Tomar video playing Dustborn. Zack was really in his element shitting on the horrible dialogue from Saints Row and Forspoken. They'd have a field day with that opening song alone
 
After having a lot of Oneyplays comps in the background while vidya farming, a lot of them being full of Adam & Spaz, I still think Adam is more retarded and annoying. Like genuinely, actually, mentally stunted. Or he's so fucking fried from doing whatever it is he likes doing that he basically turned himself retarded which is essentially the same thing.
