Man, I tried watching a new season of The Simpsons the other day. Such hot flaming shit. I tapped out after like season 16 or around there (and that's really trying to give it a fair chance). I mean at this point they should recreate this scene and it would be better than anything they put out in the last two decades:

I think the only time Simpsons ever sounds good to me as at the early part of October when I really want to get into the Halloween spirit and Treehouse of Horror sounds like it'll hit the spot.
But the last two years I went an episode too far and watched a newer ToH and it soured my spirit.

Keep in mind the average age of a Simpson writer now has to be like 60+ so them watching Smiling Friends has to blow their mind. I think it's more of an "I'm old I don't get the appeal to this" type thing not an attack.

Sidenote I don't know why so many people rate my post thunk provoking it's not fake. I didn't AI generate that cartoon of bart lol.

The Lyle and Niall episodes are boring to the point of being near unwatchable. Cory may be a sperg, but at least he's engaged in whatever conversation they're having. Lyle and Niall might be a lower energy combination than even Lyle and Tomar.
 
I like the idea that even at the ebb of Dave's blissful ignorance he would still think Chris would make him get up early in the morning just to drive to a mountaintop Asian-Fusion restaurant.

funny how simpsons went from being pop culture just to become “referece popular culture” outside of the treehouse of horror parodies and that that’s what older people used to feel about the simpsons.
They are so out of touch, and no the children aren’t wrong.

Sorry for double posting but classic Treehouse of horror was the best, with the sprignfield cemetery openings and the morbid credit nicknames like “bat groaning” people will debate where the good simpsons ends and the bad simpsons begin I’d say it’s when the treehouse of horror became the “treehouse of inadequate scifi parodies”

That's exactly how it was for me. The first time I watched a Treehouse of Horror and it wasn't "scary" or even parodying a horror film and instead it was just pop culture shit I knew it was over. I'll always love the Raven parody and the one with the Krusty the Klown doll and also the Amityville Horror parody. Nightmare at 20,000 feet was amazing too with it being on the schoolbus instead of a plane. God even the Halloween Southpark episodes and the King of the Hill Halloween episode from the time period were just kino as fuck.
Why can't Halloween be as fucking cool as it was in the 90s? It's sad that today all I hope to get every Halloween is a good Boneyplays and maybe a good JonTron Halloween but that hasn't been a thing in nearly a decade yet I still hold hope. Oh well. There's always Nostalgiaween
Or Goose Boose's Traumathon! lol no, not even.

we're not even out of fucking May yet and now I'm excited for Halloween.

Awww this makes me happy everyone loves 90s Halloween, do yourself a favor This year and buy a couple of purple lights and carve a couple of jack’o’lanterns (plastic ones are fine too) and put them by the tv and just watch anything spooky (recommended boneyplays illbleed) eat some candy and you got a classic Halloween vibe. I’m exitied too

I’ve definitely started to come around to corey, sonic is a bit gay and overplayed but hey this and tomodachi life LPs are so much fun that I had a change of heart.
I can’t wait for them to see the ending.
