Kind of old news I should have responded to when the video was posted a while back, but I only just watched DingDong's trailer for his new game. He has literally made the most basic done-to-death falling block match x game you can find 100s of on systems dating back to the NES, and 1000s of versions of mobile slop. The only thing with any kind of uniqueness is the circling mechanic, but that isn't nearly enough. It's like baby's first game in terms of complexity for someone who is suppose to have 10+ years of dev experience, but it's much bleaker in terms of creativity/personality of which it has basically none. In a world where solo and very small teams of indie devs are making extremely novel games in terms of gameplay mechanics and presentation, DingDong really comes off as bland and devoid of any ideas or inspiration. I think I see why he hates the legacy of OneyPlays so much now, his entire life is owned to the nepotism of it and I think he knows all to well he could not have made it anywhere without it. He wants to be a Pizza Tower, Balatro, Lethal Company or even Nubby's Number Factory creator but dosen't have the drive, creativity or talent to do so - he'll never be able to break away from "OneyPlays guy" because he simply lacks the personal merit in his own endeavors.

I always found DingDong to be a great comedic deadpan and he just threw it away to be another "dev that never finishes anything". After that retarded Dream Daddy controversy, he just became a sad sack for people outed as a faggot then pretends that it was the worst thing ever but never releases any info on it. I think he's lying a bit for attention and wanted an excuse to leave.

He's very much aware of all the times the boys reference him and he's only ever responded with appreciation. He even commented on their video where they talk to his AI clone. I think it's on Chris' bucket list to get him on the show but scheduling might be difficult.

I don't know if he'd be able to keep up with the guys' sense of humor but after watching those Tom Fulp Castle Crashers videos where he only ever speaks up to talk about the development of the game, I don't think it's a big deal and that he'll be able to do better. I love Tom but I didn't know he was that shy and bad at improving.

Just got around to this, not the funniest episode but cute in a 2010s sorta way. Just playing minecraft without much direction.

Yeah I remember him being much more talkative in the sleepycast episodes he was in. Maybe being older with a family he's just trying not to make a fool of himself online.

That's totally fair. Whenever they mention him on stories he seems like a fun guy to be around with. It would've been better if they asked him before what would he be comfortable talking about. They could've structured this more like a developer's commentary with a better flow rather than occasionally trying to insert him into their usual sonic porn roleplays.

Now that Tomar followed the Law of Return, we have a reason for them to play online multiplayer games again, meaning a greater chance for stuff like Slightly Artistic, Second Life, VRCHAT, Minecraft, shit even some WoW and RuneScape.

DangDeng is streaming on YT as I write this (here, not gonna back it up because I got there when it had started and there's no telling how long it'll go, and I won't stay to the end), and man, I wish we got this DingDong more often. He's been talking about really interesting stuff about old games (PS1 era, old rhythm games, SNK games and their presentation and arranged soundtracks, etc), the inaccuracies inherent to some kinds of emulation, his CRT setup, and giving technical explanations of how to actually imitate old media, and how people do it wrong (particularly analog horror bullshit). Nothing drama related so far, aside from a vague mention about "it's sad what happened to [Byu]", not even a mention of KF or anything in that regard.

It's been comfy.
