On the off-chance DD is lurking this ol' thread, given that it seems to be where most of frogs' posts are, I'll throw out that contrary to what's apparently true of a lot of the lets-play audience, I rather enjoy his critical takes on games. I feel like too many people out there just shit on things because it's popular to shit on them, but particularly in the YIIK-through and that old Night in the Woods stream, I really enjoyed listening to him not just get frustrated at the games' shortcomings, but also offer up potential means by which they could have been improved, could have been tweaked just slightly to get them up-to-snuff.

More related to OP itself, the first few seconds of the new RE4 vid were fucking funny. In the episode prior, Chris is charged by a dog, tries to pull out his shotgun, and then realizes it isn't loaded. He keeps that shotgun unloaded for the rest of the episode despite repeatedly opening his inventory to swap to it. I imagine people yelled at him about it.

Also hah, gg @gayfrogs69420 . I guess this proves DingDong lurks Kiwifarms, which isn't that surprising all things considered. But now I'm wondering if he knows exactly who gayfrogs is, or if they have some personal connection perhaps?

He's live on Twitch right now too. I wonder if he takes long breaks inbetween checking up on internet shenanigans.


EDIT: Oh shit yup, he's responding directly to me right now. Says he's someone very petty from over a decade ago. He seems pretty chill about KF in general though.

Yeah ding dong is great. He may have an odd fetish, but compared to every other lowcow him and Julian are practically wholesome.


Edit: Oh now I remember that jackass. Gayfrog sounded like a spiteful asshole to me from the beginning. Unless they got photographic proof of ding dong kicking puppies I always treat that shit as fake.

If he has any cowish tendencies, it's that he seeks out negativity and obsesses over it. He got better about it, but he had some really bad streams where he just kept ruminating about old drama for hours on end. Sure, his chat kept bringing that shit up, but it takes two to dance.

A lot of creatives have a tendency to do that, which is why having a good support network/wrangler who'll pull the plug can be helpful.
It's a part of why I think the DD&J pairing is cute, since I can imagine Julian getting him unwound from that kinda state.

Those moments really made his old streams unbearable, every other moment was him getting the last word. I'm glad he has gotten so much better and typically ignores most of the chat.

Let's say that you're a creative sort who has an interest in breaking into the indie/alternative scene, but you've had to spend much of your earlier years digging your way out of being a poor mook without access to equipment or training. Where's a good spot to dig your heels in and get going? Competing for breathing space on instagram strikes me as a little dubious, and twitter's cancerous. Is Newgrounds an open club of weirdos, or more a bunch of old-timers?

Getting feedback and critique that's real, scathing, and biting is something mighty useful, but there's seemingly not a lot of places to get it. Lots of other folks got their starts in years past in places that offered that up aplenty, but I'm at a loss for where one would get that nowadays.

I wouldn't worry about it, other people have addressed things on here in the past (and some even made accounts for it, like MarzGurl) and nobody really cares. It's not like he got a verified account here and actively posts about lolcows (liken Ethan van Sciver or formerly Lordkat).

On the tuba thing, it's bizarre and a bit off-putting, but good luck finding any artist who isn't weird. Most of us just don't have an entire thread of people trying to dig that weirdness up lol.
