It was re-broadcast during the noughties on other TV channels in Europe though, though they aren't well known and he may have been too old for the show at the time, so it still makes sense why Chris wouldn't have known.
We never got it on terrestrial TV in the UK, some people might have had it on SKY or something but it's not a cultural touchstone for my generation, which is the same as Chris'. He's more likely to recognise the spotty plane from Come Outside or Brum than the Magic Schoolbus, I reckon, those are the sort of kids TV shows every ~30 year old from the UK will know.

True. I only ever remember it being re-run on POP and occasionally Channel 5.

Ah, I never watched Channel 5, I suppose it might have been on Milkshake or something, the only thing I ever caught on that was The Tribe, Beast Wars and Captain Scarlet because they were on after SMTV . We never got POP, we didn't even get Freeview in my house. Anything that wasn't on the main five channels came from bootleg VHS tapes courtesy of the friendly chinese chappy at the indoor market.

Rewatching this, I just realized that Chris is so mad about the record twist that he literally can’t talk for a bit there. You can just hear him sputtering while Ding Dong and Julian are joking around.
If I was playing through this without having seen this before, I'd be rightly pissed too. It's literally a journey for nothing at this point so I can understand Chris' frustration.

I don't blame him, it's so fucking stupid. It's not that she used a pseudonym or that her name/face wasn't on the cover, it's that he literally just didn't look at the fucking thing.

I bet $100 dollars that if YIIK was released back in 2010 it would have been more successful. Artsy Fartsy Thinky games like Fez and Braid were taking over the industry at that time, Alex would have fit snuggly with the likes of Phil Fish. Hell he could of even gotten a quickie from Zoey if he played his cards right.

I'm glad Chris's hatred of Tetsuya Nomura was just building up all this time since the remake
It’s interesting to me in that out of the two biggest FF7 fans I’ve seen on YouTube, Oney and Maximillan Dood had the exact opposite reaction to the remake. That game really did end up being pretty divisive among the fanbase.

I guess it’s all dependent upon what you liked about the original game itself.

Am I the only one who has gotten bored of the Digimon series? I stopped watching after episode 6 or 7 and only enjoyed it for the lads fun commentary.

And as someone who has played the game on and off, it's definitely way more fun to play yourself than watch someone else play.

I think it could've done better around the time of Undertale's release too as part of the "its just like Earthbound!" meme
Pretty sure Toby Fox even composed at least one track for Yiik

Same to be honest, the series definitely brought out great moments like that weird Sonic story pitch that made up almost an entire episode by itself but the game just doesn't give them enough material for jokes
