Ongezellig /ˈɔŋ.ɣəˈzɛ.ləx/ is an indie Dutch cartoon created by Studio Massa which revolves around the lives of three adopted sisters named Maya, Coco and Mymy. The series has become quite popular among 4chan's /co/ board as well as Soyjak Party. Currently the series consists of 6 short episodes uploaded on YouTube.
Characters:
Maya
Maya is the main protagonist of Ongezellig. She is a Dutch student who struggles with ADD, and is suspected to be autistic. During the events of the show she is shown to be heavily introverted and socially withdrawn.
Coco
Coco is the adoptive sister of Maya and Mymy. Originally hailing from South Africa she was adopted after the death of her parents. Despite being portrayed as somewhat air headed in the series, she is shown to generally be kind and well intentioned.
Mymy
Mymy is the third adopted sister of the two previously aforementioned characters. She has a strong interest in Dutch history, particularly surrounding Dutch culture and colonialism. Her nationalistic pride toward the Netherlands is reflected in her world views which have caused her to adopt a somewhat racist perception of Belgium. Mymy is originally from Nagasaki, Japan. However because of her strong patriotism toward the Dutch she vehemently denies her Japanese heritage by claiming she is ethnically Dutch.
