High stagger resistance, high damage, high stamina, ring that made your dodge better, that's all. It wasn't really that revolutionary, other builds did the same thing, it was just particularly well-optimized so you could maximize both stagger resist and damage output. Giantdad wasn't gamebreaking, just, good. If you already knew how to play, you could always just parry them and murder them due to the Zwei being predictable. Well, if DS1's abhorrent netcode would play along, at least.

Fuck I can't believe I forgot about that. Yukaslegion basically started the "point down" meme because he lost his shit when someone did it to him in Dark Souls 2, that guy was a total freak. Didn't he have a mail order bride or something?

Yukas would lose his shit so easily, getting Inferno Plus w/ another YouTuber banned from Twitch at the time and copyright claiming his video, all because he edited his face onto that ugly slug monster boss. I don't think that crybaby ever addressed it either, just kept on playing silently like a mexican Wings of Redemption.
Does anyone have a reupload of that or any of the Albino trolling content? The 30 minute video made by Albino where he spends a ton of time trolling under the name of Zepe was the funniest shit in the world. Albino is a good guy.

That whole group with Peeve, Yukas and Oroboro were honestly lolcows themselves, I've never seen anyone take the "PVP honor" stuff so seriously. all of them were in their 30's and absolutely hated anyone that would play outside of the meta. I also remember them also being extremely bitter to any other Dark Souls streamer that wasn't on their team, really strange shit.

This was maybe the single funniest thing to come out of the DS2 era. IIRC there was more to the story though. it began with grapfic invading yukas with the Deceased Iron King.
This is the Deceased Iron King. Yukas isn't in the video but you can see how an uptight obese mexican who takes streaming too seriously would have a moralfag conniption over nasty trolls invading with a haxx0red character
Yukas freaks out, rage quits. Grapfic makes a video making fun of Yukas and all the team majula nerds call him fat and gay in the comments. Yukas then copyright strikes that video. Then it comes out that a twitch admin and soulbrant member called sonos or something like that has been monitoring team majula streams and has everyone on a shit list. Then Inferno made the covetous demon texture mod and him and someone named mocha sun were banned, and apparently the sonos fella didn't even have the stones to do it himself and instead ratted them to another admin who did the actual deed. And to top it off, they were banned for "cheating", fucking lol.

If someone has a copy of the yukas covetous demon clip, please post it. I sent out a desperate 5AM message to the couple of steam friends from that period who are still active but I'm not holding out hope.

iDubbbz is a great example of what all BPD relationships eventually develop into if they dont crash and burn. It's just an ironic joke people took way too seriously. The only good thing about the build is it fast rolls in really good armor. Everything else about it is just poking fun at how the meta used to be before the game got patched.
 
for more context to yukas, he is also a creep who was after that one enrdy red head chick. i cant remember her name but she was defending fatty after everybody gave him shit for his handling of things. Sonos was his friend and he openly said he will reach out to him to get you banned, just a normal twitch thing that soem streamer have connection and are above the law. the point down meme was during Dks 3, yukas hosted a fight club and lost to soulless and he did the point down, he followed up with he classic "yeah i bann him"

It wasn't revolutionary in the slightest lol. Giant armor had the best defenses and second best poise so it was an obvious equip. The only downsides to giants was the weight, you'd equip fap, havels/darwood grain(before patch), and the father mask to offset that issue. As for the shield, 99% of players regardless of build equipped the grass crest shield since it gave the best buff in the game(faster stamina regen). As for the zweihander, also an obvious pick. The other ultra great swords had shittier move sets, too difficult to acquire, or were too heavy. I guarantee you a large percentage of people who played the game had the exact same setup or something very similar without even watching the video.

I lurked a tiny bit on a faggy chatango (darkersouls) back in the day, it was mostly d-list souls youtubers, it was a sort of predecessor to soulbrandt and it was started (iirc) by Mayhem who was "in hiatus" while Rosie posted, when Rosie posted "her" last trolling video, he conviniently came back
I have no archives but that chatroom was a piece of work, i dont think within its lifetime (2012 to 2015 or so, when bloodborne came out) it had anything too heavy or drama worthy, besides the usual cavalcade of retards simping for the few open women who posted there, a couple of them were catfishes (i think there were alteast 2 confirmed wamen who posted voice and the occasional picture and like 5-4 catfish) and one canadian guy who later turned out to be underage was allegedly scammed to the tune of 1.4k CAD in PSN and steam bucks by a catfish. But that happened way after that group tried to switch to discord, since i was a lurker i didnt get anything directly from that. Lots of people from those days tried switching to the Fextralife community, but that was full of combative retards who werent really receptive to bantz, it was really autistic

Holy shit I completely forgot about that, a few friends and I had so much fucking fun trolling Mayhem in his gay little chatango. I was friends with one of the moderators and she told me that Red Rosie / Mayhem shared the same IP address whenever they entered the chat. That place being able to show IP's was also Mayhem's way of trying to dox anyone who dislikes him, he would ask them to enter his chat to talk to him and he would try to dox the person based off the ip that was shown. Thankfully the dude has an iq of 50 so he was only able to successfully do it once, and it was to a no name retard orbiter that rubbed against his ego the wrong way. I think he tried to do it publicly too in front of everyone to make himself seem badass.

The simping inside there was also insane, I'm glad you brought that up. Mayhem would often give mod roles to any female fan he could find because he was a virgin and wanted to get laid badly, he later tried to fuck one of the moderators and then gave up while doing some kind of incel meltdown in front of her. This was back when they hung out with people irl like BroWithTheFro. I do remember the scam as well, that place in general was just absolutely full of wheelchairs.
 
Honestly you could make a community watch thread on the Fromsoft community. It’s a huge den of unbridled faggotry. Hell, you could probably even make a thread solely on the dark souls 2 debate
