True, I should come up with my own fantasy and operate that way. Sounds better. I bet she raised a guy like Blade, threatened suicide and told him it'd be his fault, and is actually really tight with her other children. She's probably got functional relationships with them and gets mother's day cards every year.

I don't know if Blade's a good person or not, that's not for me to decide. I know he's an asshole a lot of the time, but I also know alcohol can bring out the worst in people. It brought out the worst in me, too. That's why I watch Blade is to remind myself of where I don't want to go and what I don't want to be.

But I was an asshole with a father. I was an asshole with a mother who I can be certain would never in her wildest dreams tell me she was going to kill herself AND that it was my fault. That's some psychopathic shit right there. Peggy called the police on Blade when he drank too much - not the ambulance. It was his viewers who called in welfare checks. I watch Blade because I can relate to him in a lot of ways, and because he's entertaining a lot of the time when he's acting abrasive. But I don't judge him, because I know I don't know enough about him or his life to say he's a piece of shit.

We live in a world with serial killers and child rapists. Examples abound of both of those types of people. Blade threw a dog off him when drunk a few times. I'm not going to sit back and say he's a piece of shit because I've done worse than throw a dog off me or call passing black people niggers. And I sure as shit care about myself enough to never get holes in my legs or lose my toes, so he's not quite playing with a full deck to say the least.

Frankly I can believe that Peggy has kids who don't talk to her, because even as Lit Romney you can tell Blade was concerned about his mom. We've seen him, mid stream, put her on the toilet when he forgot that shit was on. On some level he is a good son, a lot of kids don't even speak to their shitty parents anymore. Maybe he's too good a son - when Peggy was squawking about an obituary, his immediate response was 'need a loan?' as he walked out the door. I imagine she's been using him as a piggy bank and he's too much of a momma's boy to tell her that it's not her money to gamble with (we saw them both go to a casino - nice place to be for a mother and son, no?).

Sorry to have been passive aggressive in my previous response, I can understand why you'd not take Blade at face value regarding his siblings. Two out of three kids not talking to their mother is dark as shit, but it's not uncommon especially in the United States where everyone's out for themselves, even when it comes to health care. I also take the idea at face value because he said it while he was drinking and saying nigger nigger nigger - he wasn't exactly in the headspace of trying to look good. Then we heard his sister talking to him and she sounded at least three times more functional than he does.

I'd tell Peggy to fuck off and go get fish tacos, too.

I see this a lot, especially since the release of the Epstein Files. I think this is the stupidest argument.

And yeah, I don't believe Blade. I'm surprised you can. The only evidence you have is Blade saying they don't talk to her. Maybe they just don't talk to him? It's something to think about.

Since the release of the Epstein files? They haven't been released, what are you even talking about? It's kind of a big deal actually.

The argument is that you want to demonize a dude who gets drunk on stream and says nigger. He threw a dog once. Maintaining perspective on just how awful humans can be and then realizing that this guy's not so awful isn't an argument, I'm trying to convert you to rationalism. But you'd rather say things like 'maybe they just don't talk to him? It's something to think about.' yeah - your made up fantasies are for sure something for me to think about. I'll get right on that.

No, that's the thing, you don't have any perspective on this. Your point of view is, "some people rape children, therefore other bad people somehow aren't that bad."

No, Blade is that bad. Blade is one of the worst people I've ever seen.

And yes, this way of thinking is more common since the government released the emails known as the Epstein files. People wave off all kinds of bad behavior and make the same argument you have.
