Ooperator Appreciation Thread - Inspired by Kay Ann

Hello!
Due to somewhat recent events, I've decided to write a quick guide for proper fangirl etiquette on how to interact with our beloved ooperator thusly named:

“The Delusional Fangirl's Guide on Simping for Daddy Null”
Dedicated to @dvnc and the thousands of future fangirls Null will gain when he inevitably becomes a house👏hold👏name👏

Alright, so as a fangirl, how do you interact with Dear Leader??

You don't.

In the six years that I've been a fan, I've personally e-mailed him twice. This is an appropriate amount for someone like me because I have nothing particularly useful or interesting to offer him. But if there is something you simply must share with him directly, (like fan art, a suggestion, resources) I suggest following the KISS-ASS method:

Keep
It
Short and
Sweet
And then
Shut the fuck up and go away
S

4 Key Points to Remember

1.) Null doesn't owe you anything
No matter how hard you simp, you are entitled to nothing. Not his time, or attention, or validation, or even acknowledgment. You are a fan because you recognize and appreciate him for the hard work he does, and your attitude towards him should reflect that. When you donate your time or money, it should be done with the expectation of getting nothing in return. This is the meaning of donating. When you start lording your given donations or dedication over others, you look like a narcissistic piece of shit. It's gross and conniving.

2.) Lurk but don't touch
Don't harass him with dipshit fuckery like asking him to play video games with you (lmao DBD), feigning incompetency or initiating pointless banter (unless prompted by him, i.e. that stupid fucking cheese thread). Amidst a million others things, he's busy keeping his website ooperational while also trying to stop the Internet from devouring itself. Time is his most valuable commodity right now; consider wasting someone else's instead.

Imagine yourself as a cheerleader at the big game. Gigachad quarterback Null has made a break for it, clutching the ball in his arm and he's beelining to the end zone. Are you gonna run onto the field to get in his way and sperg out, “ME, ME, LOOK, IT'S ME, NOTICE ME” ?

NO, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? GET OFF THE FIELD.

Null is on a mission, history is in the making. Wouldn't you love to see him thrive and achieve his goals? Don't be a nuisance, don't disrupt his gameplan. You will cheer him on from the sidelines, and then go home to your family and back to reality when the game is won.

3.) Get a grip
It's fine having interests and hobbies to passionately enjoy, but allowing it to become a full blown obsession is a symptom of underlying issues. Fanaticism is a form of escapism, especially when parasocial interactions are involved. Parasocial relationships could be used as surrogacy for real relationships and it's an easy trap to fall into if you're prone to loneliness and isolation. Many streamers/Internet celebrities knowingly take advantage of this so they can profit off of you. It's the illusion of friendship without the responsibility or commitment and it's also painfully unrequited.

What issues are you experiencing in your life that you're not addressing? What are you looking for from eDaddy Dearest that you can't find in real life? Having someone to hold you accountable and keep you grounded in reality is essential, otherwise you are doomed to suffer. Because what might seem like some innocent fun to you, could be destructive behavior. How much time or money have you spent? Has it been reasonable? Donating a few dollars here and there to show your appreciation is fair, but don't let yourself get turned into some faceless paypig. Find a safeguard and make it something tangible, like a counselor or a normie friend.

4.) Things aren't as they seem
Generally speaking, appearances can be deceiving and celebrities especially are no exception. You're seeing a small glimpse of who they are and this will vary, depending on how they choose to present themselves to the world. They will showcase characteristics that best accentuate them. Looks, intelligence, humor, specialized knowledge/talents, etc.

These qualities are enhanced yet again through the fangirl's rose-tinted glasses, and it becomes too easy to put a celebrity on the highest pedestal. It's their mask that you adore. This is why you never meet your heroes and conversely, fans cannot be friends. It's superficial and stems from an ingenuous idealization of who you think they are, and it will end in deep disappointment.

In summary
If you consider yourself a fangirl, then show your support in a manner that's rational! Unsure of what your standards for rationality should look like? Seek help immediately because you're probably mentally sick and have some issues with boundaries. Ask yourself, how would you want your fans to support or approach you if you were INTERNET FAMOUS?

Understand that choosing to be a fan is for your sake, not his. It lots of fun, but it ultimately offers no long-term fulfillment and Null's success will continue regardless of whether you're a fan or not. Take that into consideration and now visualize yourself when you're old, decrepit and lying on your deathbed. Are you going to look back on your life and regret not having simped harder for a celebrity? What would your actual regrets look like? Adjust your priorities before it's too late.

Finally, realize that true fulfillment can only be found through developing a personal relationship with our Creator, and all that may follow as a result; marriage, raising a family, establishing lasting connections, achieving set goals and over-coming personal obstacles. Discovering someone you admire enough to become a fan of is just an added bonus, but it should never take precedence. It's fine being a fan but don't act like a one, because fans truly are the worst.

on friday's MATI stream, i got to be one of the discord callers!!!! 🥳 we chatted for a WHOLE 47 SECONDS, and i think i made great use of this once in a lifetime opportunity. i was on my best behavior too! 😇 🥰😇 🥰 if i had lesser respect for him, i might have gone full sicko (à la some sexually aggressive pajeet). thank u null!

As far as fangirls/yumejos go, you're pretty alright Kay Ann. Definitely respectful about it which is practically ideal in a case like this.
Don't feel too bad about it, all men secretly love any form of female attention after all.

P.S. where the hell are you finding all these never-before-seen Josh Moon pictures? lol
