I have enough belief that a majority of the linux “clients” they saw were cheating and pulled the plug based on that.It's almost certainly linked to Apex legends dropping linux support - it went viral and ever since a lot of stupid people have been parroting it.
To be completely fair linux did allow to completely ignore EAC on apex, thus forcing jannies there to resort to manual bans.
All catbots were really minimized tf2 clients following a navpath and a few things for automation powered by cathook. This can be easily done in other cheats like lmaobox used to have with its luas. Atm there’s a fork of amalgam that enables botting which runs on windows and linux.I believe the "most cheaters use Linux" claim could be related to cathook, one of the most notorious cheat suites that was powering the TF2 Bot Crisis (at least when it was at its worst, not sure if it ever got replaced).
