Continuing with the topic of Andrew Kelley (head retard of Zig) is a lolcow, today he published his thoughts about the Bun rewrite (L/A). He claims he's not mad but the article is full of seethe.
I believe he's mad that he lost the support of one of his biggest paypigs, who moved to a different trannylang and stopped giving him tens of thousands of dollars just to tell them that AI is le bad.
Suffah Andrew!
This is great! I should have saved that blog post for toilet time or gotten a coffee ready first.

He doesn't miss the money, that he immediately noticed stopped arriving. He's happy for Jarred really, he says as he writes up a blog post saying it's not his problem anymore. Jarred is a great guy he asserts, while he calls him a terrible manager & money chaser. Jarred was writing slop before LLMs existed! But how long does it take rust to compile Jarred!

Even the reddit thread isn't falling for it https://old.reddit.com/r/Zig/comments/1urnjvh/my_thoughts_on_the_bun_rust_rewrite_andrew_kelly/ - archive https://ghostarchive.org/archive/fyO3F

I cant wait until Jon Blows Jai is made public so I can drop Zig. Living in portland has made andrew a mentally unstable freak who makes bad decisions about zig all the time. All these nu-langs are just poor imitations of Jon Blows talk of a new programming language from 2014.
Jon Blow is a bit of a lolcow as well (he got BLOWn the fuck out by soulja boy), but at least he has a lot of experience making real software and he writes real software with his language (game engine + game that is soon going to be released, I played the demo on steam) so his decision on what do with the language is based on what is actually useful to have in a language.

GTA 6 will release before Jai does. At this point, so will HL3.

The systemd dhcp client sends it unprompted.
This is wrong, it disappoints me how all you faggots rate :informative: without looking into it at all because it fits your preconceived notions.

Every DHCP client has a DUID (DHCP unique identifier), and in systemd's case it's derived from /etc/machine-id but it's not the same value.

Just symlink /etc/machine-id to /proc/sys/kernel/random/uuid
Great idea if you want your journalctl logs to be spread out over thousands of different directories (since logs get written to /var/log/journal/<machine-id>), along with other quirks I can't predict because systemd assumes /etc/machine-id is constant. I assume none of you actually tried this but updooted anyway because you like to stick it to the man.

If you want an ephemeral DUID you should also randomize your MAC address, hostname, etc so basically at that point you should just use Qubes, Whonix or Tails instead of half-assedly trying to replicate those manually.

I still think it's retarded and unnecessary that /etc/machine-id is readable by any pozzed program trying to identify you (and it's yet another argument against systemd that should probably be listed on systemdfree.com, since no other init system does this) but if you feel superior for avoiding systemd you should know dhcpcd generates its own constant DUID which does the same exact fucking thing.

Jai will not have serious use beyond game dev. I'm sorry to tell you this.
Even serious use in gamedev is incredibly optimistic unless you count a handful of Jon Blow fans. It's going to come out in 5-15 years and it'll be yet another completely unremarkable "C with extras" variant like Zig, Odin and whatever short-lived variants will have come out by then. Whatever gimmicks it may have will likely have already been taken by other languages that didn't kneecap their own adoption from day one.
