Oh god, people just can't help but go MUH MUH MUH NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZES whenever they see something they don't like, can they? In case you didn't catch it, some weeks ago Mullvad's CEO donated the equivalent of ~500000eur to Orebro, a Swedish party that, among many other things, strongly supports the idea of remigration, getting browns OUT of European countries, including those born in Sweden. Pretty based, yeah? Well, The Hated One, a channel I have shilled before as one of the last few worthwhile tech channels on the 'tube put out this video:

While it does make some good points about private donations to politicians being conceptually retarded, some shortcomings on Mullvad's end and has recommendations for other privsec VPN providers, I could peek at my fucking brain how far back my eyes rolled when he called Orebro nazis at ~10:10. This entire video feels like thinly veiled seethe hidden beneath just enough good talking points to be worth watching end to end. He posits this idea that remigraiton is only possible via mass dragnet surveilance, cameras on every corner, constant biometric scanning, the end of privacy as we know it! Or, you could just, you know, round them up and out of their "migrant hotels"? Maybe get rid of the ghettos in Malmo and Oslo? Stop and ask for ID from any penguin in a burqa or anyone accompanying one? It is baffling that these people can so strongly oppose such policy when living in countries that have no-go zones. Politics aside, his points are laced with seethe in general. He mentions that Mullvad is too centralized and has no way to hide your IP when using different services or web pages. Except they do. Their browser app has 'random mode' which assigns a different proxy to each domain you visit, rotated on browser reset and natively shipped with the Mullvad Browser. He also regurgitates a talking point HE HIMSELF WENT AGAINST IN THE PAST that the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL KNTZS can force Mullvad to log user data or otherwise intercept and route it directly to the Evil 1st Swedish Reichstag so it can send (You) to the jeet obliteration corner if it so much as SNIFFS a hint of brown about you.

A. Mullvad don't keep logs, and B. this is the identical point he argued against like 5 months ago, as if the EU drone govt couldn't already do that. Nice flip bro. GEG at how he explicitly says it isn't Mullvad who did this but one of its two CEOs as a private dono, and then goes 'Heh, and WHERE do you think that money came from, CHUD? From his PRIVATELY OWNED CORPORATION!! DUN DUN DUUUUUN! How come he didn't donate all of that money to the 'Bring Everyone From Zambia Here' Act instead? Hmmmmmm its almost like he's a socialist.... a NATIONAL SOCIALIST!!!!" Literally all his other qualms are crying about muh knot Z s. Because, you know, to be private you HAVE to allow brown rape rats into your country because.... because you JUST DO, OKAY?

As for the services he shills, iVPN(Git) is one I've seen menitoned before as a reliable #2 or #3 after Mullvad and Incognet, maybe Proton too, if you're into that. Nym (Git) seems interesting as a sort of 'decentralized VPN' using mixnet servers to spit out garbage and make it more difficult to track metadata. From a brief skim and watching their video, this just seems like reinventing the Onion/Garlic routing weel, no? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Safing(Git) looks vibe coded and as generic as Nord, never heard of them either, but not giving me a strong impression with that landing page.

Gotta admit I am a tad bit miffed, as they say in Bonglandistan, that more and more people are falling victim to the same political 'brainrot' they so zealously claim to be immune to. Though, given his last video, perhaps the writing was on the wall all along.

- Wikipedia: a huge free labor camp for autists with business model is centered around begging for donations;
- Linux: a hobby OS turned into a workhorse for every modern device, bukkake of corporate cost cutting and code reuse;
- git: side effect of Linux;
- Rust: A language created to let an intern write kernel code because good C programmers were too rare and expensive, also to make it cheaper to write drivers for Linux.

I have no idea about blender and python. I dont remember what program was blender modeled after (haha) but it was something expensive
As much of a tool as Lunduke can be, his extension that replaces the begging bar on Wikipedia with their financial disclosure is pretty fucking funny.

I dont get it, the Örebro party was created by a literal communist who was a member of the leftist party in Sweden and a member of a Mali (west african) communist party. He was also the chairman of a socialist, marxist and feminist youth organization. Where does nazism fit into that?

Don’t overthink it: “Nazism” is when you disagree with a radical leftist. Always keep that in mind.

Where in the world are you? Macs have absolutely horrendous build quality and repairs of them are a joke ("mail it in and we'll wipe your machine"), while even chineseum stinkpads will have a repair man drive into the middle of nowhere to fix your laptop when you tip your coffee cup over it and some key gets sticky (but laptop still works while you wait because they have drain holes, and yes this is based on personal experience).

Apple toys aren't serious work machines.
Thank you for showing us you know nothing at all.

— Linus Torvalds on AI in Linux development

The seething on Phoronix is delicious: https://www.phoronix.com/forums/for...x-is-not-anti-ai-not-a-social-warrior-project

The people in the anti-AI/"AI-skeptic" camp are in total fucking cope mode now. I'm convinced those who hold this sentiment have never seriously tried the latest models in the latest harnesses. It's fascinating to see guys like T2 Linux guy experiment with AI, going in highly skeptical, now he's just prompting all day on livestream. Working on the kernel or drivers or whatever he does. Meanwhile Tsoding and JBlow are just seething and coping. Tsoding is especially seethe mode.

It's so fucking over for handwritten bespoke code snobs and websloppers. If only they realized how much extra shit they could get done.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Torvalds was always and always will be a pragmatist, which is very refreshing in a time where everyone is brainwashed into being extremely opinionated about everything.
Clearly Torvalds isn’t tuned in to the LTS kernel releases, where they’ve automated nearly everything in the process, and they keep shipping broken kernels because the AI keeps writing bad backport patches.

I’ve been watching the carnage via the spendergrsec Twitter account, and it’s :popcorn:

with AI, it's very important to understand what the AI is doing, to catch mistakes and to also instruct it correctly what to do (so many people actually fail at this) and I think most trainwrecks stem from people wielding AI in areas they have no business in and the AI giving them a false impression that they're mastering it. But it's an amazing force multiplier. I use hermes with various ai models and today there was something I wanted to have added to a script it wrote some weeks ago and I just literally chatted it up with "remember when you wrote that script, could you go back to it and change xy" and it recalled the session, and then just went ahead and implemented my change requirements. It was really a bit of a woah moment for me, just in how elegant and effortless the entire thing went. How is that not useful?

The only downside of AI (aside from increased hardware cost) is that AI crawlers keep raping my server. Western AIs mention that they are AI in the user agent, while Chinese AI crawlers dont give a fuck. They do everything to pretend that they are real users, using real Windows/MacOS user agents and they spam requests from thousands of different IPs from Alibaba cloud.
My solution right now is to just block windows/macos users which blocks those Chinese AI crawlers.

It would be smarter to block AliBaba.

i am being wholly serious when i say just block the entirety of china and india. i've had numerous issues in the past with huawei (sp?) ranges in china just mass scanning everything. if you don't offer a service to them, you don't need to make it available to them. my shit is in english, the ching chongs can eat my ass.

india because no explanation necessary.

In terms of AI it’s adapt or perish. It’s a productivity enhancer if you know how to yield it correctly and be constantly vigilant of the output it produces. But that’s a fair price to pay IMO.

Also for local AI models ‘heretic’ is my favorite power word
