Diseased Open Source Software Community - it's about ethics in Code of Conducts

I am happy to report that the XLibre port for FreeBSD is making good progress, and that the forum thread still attracts mushmouthed retards coming to kvetch about muh anti vax. Refreshing to see that everyone else immediately tells them to fuck off:
EXHIBIT A: JABCUCK

There was also some faggot crying about using the word "slave" in a technical context earlier but I don't want to shit up the thread with screenshots so go take a look for yourself if you want to. My point was that FreeBSD seems a lot more resilient against throwing the book at people than the presence of a CoC would imply, especially in light of Loonspook recently pressuring them to deplatform one of their devs in a somewhat similar way to how IBM did Enrico. I wonder if they only implemented their Code of C(uck)onduct under pressure from corporate sponsors a la Meta / Netflix? Honestly if it weren't for the CoC I would be able to wholeheartedly recommend FreeBSD to pretty much anyone. Instead, I have to recommend it with a tiny grain of salt.

Which is doubly retarded since that goes against the very meaning of 'free speech', its just their own malign, subversive way of censoring without overtly calling it censoring. Typical tranny behavior.
reddit containment breach

Nobody actually believes "politics has no place in x", they just believe in a retarded radical version of freedom of speech that forbids them from censoring people, so they have to cope about how "actually, umm, this is just the wrong place for politics, and no, things I agree with aren't political".
Most people who beat others over the head with this cudgel don't believe that anyway, as those are phrases you use to get what you want or to force consensus. If you're a hobbyist into F/OSS it doesn't matter one bit, but it's good to keep this in mind when talking about potentially lucrative projects. No matter how principled your stance is or how much you close your eyes and plug your ears, political things happen behind closed doors.

If your company is staffed by people like this and non-tranny adjacents are keeping their mouths shut to keep their jobs, guess who they're gonna hire or overlook, in spite of any qualifications? Do you think, if the XLibre guy made Wayback instead, they'd entertain it, let alone let him host it on FDO's Gitlab? As a bit of a stretch of what I'm talking about, take Anubis. Its original form, the SHA256 proof-of-work, is nearly identical to haproxy-protection made by Thomas Lynch of Fatchan fame. Lynch's project was around for years, way before Null used it as a base for the forum's DDoS protection. Yet it took a genderblob with a weird name to make a derivative before companies, foundations and even fucking EU bureaucracies started using the technology, despite it being there already.

With the faggot signal activated, Nick Fuentes' strongest warrior and savior of the White Race Charles Brownau decided to make his appearance.
I think this is a nice first hurdle for XLibre. All this guy does is sperg about shit on Poa.st, he will never, ever contribute anything of substance. If they manage to deal with him as well as hold the trannies at bay, good things may come.

So Canonical replied to Lunduke. Long story short, Jeremy Bicha disclosed his criminal record upon hire. Canonical always knew he was a serial child molester. Canonical implies that this is okay since it wasn't a computer or fraud related crime. Ignoring the liability of having a registered sex offender represent your company, especially at conferences, which are a big part of being a professional FOSS person. Crazy.

I can't even, the edit: Imagine all the times we've heard about how political opinions create unsafe work environments, but not a chomo? Come on. Would you leave your kid, or really anyone with that guy? Of fucking course not. Chomos are constant re-offenders. Chomos get out and immediately run out to a park to molest a kid, happens all the fucking time. No mental gymnastics needed, everyone instinctively understands this guy needs constant direct supervision because if you relax he might just try to rape you with a dildo. That's not a safe workplace, sorry. What is your HR team doing? This is lawsuit fuel. It's perfectly reasonable to feel unsafe around a serial child molester, and juries would agree.
Watch people continue to recommend Ubuntu to beginners after this.

Lmao, thanks YouTube.

Ian Sutter (Althacker), realising the futility of proposing an explicitly troon CoC
XLibre should ignore/delete/close all discussions regarding CoCs, the README file or "PR" as pointless bikeshedding. metux and the other actual contributing devs shouldn't even have to see this bullshit. I hate this "I can make the logo" and "idea guy" bullshit from chuds. Shut the fuck up and code. How about you run some benchmarks and see if you can get XLibre more performant than XOrg. That's real shit.

I love how this walrus-looking autistic retard thinks he ever said anything even remotely approaching what ChatGPT said. If there's one constant in the universe it is ESR's desperate desire to be seen as a Smart Guy to overcompensate for his cerebral palsy. He cannot simply be adequate. He has to be SMART. Now that he's more active on Twatter there's real potential for lulz.

This is the only way to win as a chud.

Engaging in the ragebait of the leftist is counter productive, e.g. them saying "you're a nazi" and replying "I'm not a nazi, I'm just against DEI and progressive policies". What you get back is "that makes you a nazi". There's no winning here, you are only giving them more of what they want. Even by just mentioning the concept of a CoC or DEI you are using the terminology they made up, you are playing by their rules.

The only way to absolutely BTFO the FOSS queers is to make something so good and successful that they can't ignore it. Then once they acknowledge that, they will try to infiltrate and destroy. Now comes the tricky part; never give in, never let them succeed, bring them to exhaustion.

I use it on all my servers. Not because i want to, but because i ended up with it. Whenever i tried something else, it eventually caused some annoyance that i didn't like. Ubuntu is a very good server os in my opinion. You can forget about it for years, then apt-get update and be certain that it will be fine..
Um, You should probably update your servers more frequently than every couple years. As far as annoyances what value add is there over regular debian? You're probably just using "apt-get update" as shorthand but just to be sure... you know you need to apt-get update and then apt-get upgrade right? If all you were ever doing was apt-get update then of course nothing would break because you never actually updated anything.

Oh goddamn I love that. That's basically just using GNU+NIGGER with extra steps.
I think it would be counter productive for them to actually adopt +NIGGER but it would be funny to see if they've heard of it.

Hence why, like Crunk said, any mention of CoC shit should immediately be removed and the poster serviced with a warning. CoCs are nothing more than a corporate/safety tranny bid for control and should not be tolerated whatsoever.

Stop being so helpful goddamnit. I already knew that. I was just trying to get this guy to try and give an actual answer so he would realize it's literally just smear campaign so he would stop going around saying RMS "did" anything.
Well shit, I'm all sad and stuff now :(

*sniff* ... [Stimpy] I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP!

Debian is the superior server OS. Ubuntu is based on (i.e. leeches from) it, it's much more stable (if a package makes it into the stable repo, it means they've tested the shit out of it and ensured it doesn't break anything else in the system), it can (naturally) run everything Ubuntu can, still uses apt/dpkg, supports Docker and Podman (and other container managers), and includes modern tools to let you build and run anything you could possibly want.

Security backports occur regularly, meaning packages don't just automatically leap to the latest-and-greatest version unless it's absolutely required. This results in a server that remains secure but isn't routinely surprised by unexpected upstream changes.

Give it a look! I swear by it for my systems.[/i]

Jeremy Bicha will be speaking. at the annual Debian Conference DebConf ‘25 tomorrow, this is disgusting.

This man should be fired and in jail, not participating in conferences he uses to do who knows what in private.
Everyone with any pull in FOSS communities should be screaming about this from the rooftops. This man did not simply molest his sisters, he tortured them. He went out of his own way to inflict extreme pain on girls as young as six. He jammed sharp objects inside of them and cut them with knives, leaving permanent scars. This is recorded until he was seventeen and occurred hundreds of times, often multiple times a day.

And he didn't stop at his sisters. According to the court transcripts, he raped two other children, too. This man is a permanent danger to society, his coworkers, and children. Nobody should suffer the indignity of having to deal with him. Anyone even thinking of giving him a position of power over, or ability to speak for other people in any project should read what his sister had to say about him. He will always be a predator and sadist.

What mystifies me is why he thinks him having the same thoughts as ChatGPT is a good thing, which is why I want to know the context. Maybe the whole of what he is saying there is not so stupid as it first appears. Maybe it is even stupider than it first appears.
