Yeah, but he was actually trying to switch to Linux because Windows sucks, everyone else just wants to make videos about how hawd it is to use Linux.
Oh, also Wade of DankPods is a better example because he's literally a dumb Aussie with a degree in interpretive Jazz lol.

these people will cling to it until windows is just an embedded chrome browser that connects to a win32 implementation in the cloud since the jeets at that point can't maintain support for more than 2 or so computers at once

My entire skill (limited that it is) with computers can be summed up by "He reads the documentation."

It still shocks me how few people ever even try this one simple trick. I'd chalk it up to decreased attention spans in 2025, but im old enough to remember people bragging about how little they knew about how to use their VCRs.

Reading comprehension skills are rapidly declining, especially with AI chat bots being so prevalent. Everything needs to be laid out in short "What you need to know" summaries with a list of key points or most people simply get lost and give up.

This implies in relativity that everyone left on LTT is not far from a "lobotomised drooling terminal down syndrome patient".
Tech shrek could read, do basic operations and actually follow instructions, which later he regurgitated on camera for linus or the audience. Despite trooning out to completely disregard him as a "retard" who "doesn't know shit" is disingenuous.

This is a trait of some of the more self-destructive nerdy personalities. Like the "cat piss man" stereotype of a guy who never bathes and hangs around comic and game stores wearing a cheeto-dust-encrusted Marvel comics t-shirt that he hasn't washed in ten years. These guys tend to have a history of being viciously bullied so they adopt the idea that they are fine the way they are and anyone offering them any form of criticism is an enemy who hates them.

Well-meaning people find that it's nearly impossible to help someone like this because any attempt will make them label you as an enemy. Kent seems to have some of the same thought patterns.

Does anyone use his file system these days?? I feel like no one cares and only uses like NTFS, ReFS, BTRFS, and like Ext4.

And let’s be real, tech people are too chicken shit and clout chasey to use anything that could cause “reputational damage”. Even if Reiser came out and made a new FS, no one’s gonna use it because the furries and the weirdo gooner high sock wearing code babies won’t touch it because it’s “TOO PROBLEMATIC!!”
