As much as people who don’t know the environment well bitch about macOS, Gnome has always been far more hostile to customization and discoverability. The GNOME project is ran like a hobby. Not a hobby like "software development" but a hobby like "collect user complaints and snarky replies to users".
only ever swapped from it to XFCE after my gtk2-based panel crapped out on me with theming with the latest guix update. cozy on XFCE now, and so long as nothing else comfier or more useful comes around, I plan to stay on it until the day I dieif you don't like Openbox, chances are you like suckin' cocks, nigga.
Post a stacktrace or link to a bug report with a stacktrace maybe (Next I have to figure out why GwenView krashes whenever I try closing it.
coredumpctl dump /usr/bin/gwenview or coredumpctl gdb gwenview and enter thread apply all bt full if you didn't save one).I love me local AI tools. I actually found this the other night but had other things going on so I never looked hard into it.Apparently, a solo dev debpalash just open-sourced a free replacement for ElevenLabs that runs entirely on your own machine. It's called VoiceStudio.
It lets you:
→ Clone a voice from a clean reference clip
→ Dub any video into 646 languages
→ Generate audiobooks, dictation, transcription
→ Choose from 14 TTS engines instead of one
ElevenLabs supports 32 languages. this does 646. Also, no per-character charges. no usage limits. no audio ever leaves your computer.

At the moment, according to their site, there is a "pro version" which requires work email & such, but I can't tell what it does better than the Open Source version. Hell, the dev is apparently running on UsePaid donations, but it's built in such a way that I don't know even the dev himself knows he's running on those donations. IDK why he even has those if he already has a Ko-Fi.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN-SbD28Pog Will it not be bogged down by this?
Sadly haven't gotten the chance yet (my PC is acting up). I will probably try in the future.Let a thousand Jim Metokurs blossom, and with it... let the darkness grow.
Also: You played with this yet? Any thoughts? I'll be installing it later but it'll probably be a while before I can properly evaluate it's capabilities.
Those kinds of censorship mechanisms are usually in the platform rather than the models, so even if it is you can just patch it out.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN-SbD28Pog Will it not be bogged down by this?
Bloat.We have solutions for this.
Rofi/drun - You press Super+Space to have a MacOS style bar pop-up and you can do anything with it that you'd be able to on MacOS. You can use .desktop files to act as shortcuts for binaries and other applications or even scripts.
Noctalia - Is an all-in-one solution for notifications, sound, calendar, statistics and all other forms of startmenu stuff. It also comes with a quicklauncher if you're not fond of using Rofi.
Judging from the software you recommend, YOU are the poser.Having to access your file system outside of a UI sucks, anyone who says otherwise is a faggot poser

I think this joke is a little worn out now.anything more than pencil and paper is bloat
Obviously anything X11-based will be much better but let's not act like that'll stick around for long. Whether you like it or not, Wayland will become the standard and Hyprland will be your next best option for TWM's. And just like with everything nowadays, you'll have to debloat it first, but it's not like you can't disable all the stock bells and whistles it comes with to turn it into a more classic dwm/i3-like experience, right?
The standard where, exactly?will become the standard
Which BSD? Open is fun but makes my shitbox's fans howl like crazy. The standard where, exactly?
If it becomes a standard in loonix, I don't care, because I don't use loonix.
Nuh uh nigga so long as it compiles, I VILL run i3. Sway + Guile Swayer's pretty cool too, would be cooler if it wasn't rancid Drew "Lolicon/Pedophile" De Vaultware and tied to the shitheap that is wlroots.let's not act like that'll stick around for long. Whether you like it or not, Wayland will become the standard
Well if you don't have a fancy monitor then sure, it ain't broken so it'll work. But let's not act like X11 is gonna get proper support for things like VRR or HDR any time soon, or that XLibre will catch on with those features.so long as it compiles
