Opera decides to put an Eric Andre jumpscare intro as a part of the advertisement for "Bury Boring". Now people are switching browsers - Opera users are quiting after Opera decides to put as jumpscare in the loading intro

What the fuck were they thinking? The last version of Opera worth a damn was Opera 12 because it did things well, did them differently, and looked really nice. Now Opera's ugly chinkshit, overloaded with buzzwords like "web3" and "AI". It's obvious that they aren't able to innovate (I think it's because they're weighed down by Chromium), so Opera just chases fads and dumb shit. Vivaldi is a better Opera than Opera is, and it's just a different Chromium fork.

i use ghostery, edge [bc it allows me to make discord calls w/o downloading the desktop version of discord which is evidently a notorious data scraper], opera gx, and brave [mainly for the tor window option now as i had uninstalled it after repeatedly killing my favorite new tab extension -- détente has been achieved it seems]
i never got the eric andre jump scare even once, but i did see the ad video after an update, so i went to xitter to congratulate opera gx on recognizing human female biology with their addition of "xx" to their logo.
i used vivaldi for a while, it was ok.
i quit on firefox after their weird political sperg out on donald trump. i hate trump, but what they wrote was assmad, and i felt like boycotting.
can't stress this enough, if one cares about the 1st amendment, speech, deplatforming, &c., mozilla/firefox is not your friend [i say as i type into my apparently chinese spyware infested browser].

I use LibreWolf (UnMozilla'd Firefox) and probably will remain that way. Either way too many normies are scared of installing competent adblockers like UBlock Origin. I believe retarded shit like this exists because of such reasons. Why does Opera even exist anymore? What does it even bring to the table?

Trackers. Unless you go for an open source browser or fork of an already existing browser, doing your research and know full well you ain't getting fucked, you're going to get fucked in one way or another no matter which browser you use

In Opera's case, as soon as you open the browser, it's fucking you in the ass

83 requests right from the get-go to various Opera/Google sites.

It also sends your information to it's "partners". Information like geo-location and unique ID's that identify you.

90% of those are images, some are your extensions, a couple could be trackers, but it's not much compared to something like Chrome.

If you use an adblock and/or pihole/adguard home you're fine either way. If you don't use something like that, you should.

Not to defend Opera here, they basically inserted malware like that one retarded emulator or w/e dev who wanted to fuck with russians, but the fact you get a bunch of pngs, icons, favicons, currency conversion data(exchange.opera.com), auto update data, push notification(checkin & register3 stuff) and some other minor shit means absolutely nothing and you're just spreading retarded information. I'm sure Opera has trackers, but not in the image you provided.

This is all normal and, at least in that screenshot you provided, there's basically no tracking. I can't believe people are still falling for the old

>Hello sir I am Michael from Microsoft tech support, just look at all these hackers in your browser

All browsers are shit but at least the shit ones only promote gay tranny nigger shit like once a year to meet marketing quota
Opera however decides to have the most annoying tranny retard run its social media account because somehow this is good PR

What does Opera even do differently than the myriad of browsers available? Is there any legit reason to use it over Firefox or literally anything that isn't Chrome?
It just comes pre-installed on lower tier smartphones is what I gathered from it. Often it's hard-coded into them and a pain to remove.

This is mandatory LGBTBBQ-flag in Windows levels of retardation.

Companies/products should never be meme:y or "funny". I have petabytes of that shit at my fingertips should I want it. A genuinely good non malevolent product that just does what it says on the tin though, now that's a rarity.
