That and Phil has shown that he will only take what he wants to hear as fact to the point of homelessness, so therapy is not likely to work.

This might be true for some of them, but the Phil thread isn't a great example of that. Pretty much everyone here hates his guts. I don't speak for everyone but I think him stepping in front of a bus would be hilarious.

I think EDF and KF have self-selecting userbases. A certain amount of people are interested in watching lolcows. Of this number, some will have a capacity for empathy, others will not.

Those who can feel empathy to some degree will come here, those who can't will go to EDF. Thus, KF is a hugbox and EDF is a bearpit, and both sides have a common interest but struggle to bond over this because of an inability to understand the other forum's worldview.
