Optimistic Quotes

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places - Ephesians 6:12

It really put things into perspective. Ugly troons aren't who we're at war with (nor even the Jews), but actual Satan and his legions who hold the highest seats of power in this world, and use these people to do their bidding.

The Earth may be their playground at the moment but it's also God's footstool.

Kind of redundant posting this, but I just want to say this legitimately brought a smile to my face and made my morning.

Since Tolkien is back on the public mind cause of Amazon nig show, here are some good quotes from The Lord of the Rings worth taking to heart;
People forget Tolkien had more cause than most to be nihilistic- he was a WW1 veteran that saw some of the most grueling, horrific battles in human history. Yet rather than succumb to the darkness around him, he fought for an even deeper and more profound sense of hope and to show people light in even the darkest of hours. If you're ever bummed out, it's a seminal work of optimism and hope.

  • "Deeds will not be less valiant because they are unpraised."
  • "Oft hope is born when all is forlorn."
  • "Dawn is ever the hope of men."
  • "There are some things that it is better to begin than to refuse, even though the end may be dark."
  • "Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens."
  • "I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies. I will be grateful to die among my friends."
  • "Courage will now be your best defence against the storm that is at hand—that and such hope as I bring."
  • "You can trust us to stick to you through thick and thin—to the bitter end. And you can trust us to keep any secret of yours—closer than you yourself keep it. But you cannot trust us to let you face trouble alone, and go off without a word. We are your friends."
  • "For behold! the storm comes, and now all friends should gather together, lest each singly be destroyed."
  • "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."
  • "It’s only a passing thing, this shadow; even darkness must pass."
  • "Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer."
  • "Have patience. Go where you must go, and hope!"
  • "Courage is found in unlikely places."
  • "It is not the strength of the body, but the strength of the spirit."
  • "A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship- but it is not this day."

"There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for."
and to all the trannies.... "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"

"I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed."
-William Ernest Henley, Invictus

OR

"It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul."
-William Ernest Henley, Invictus

It is no wonder then if the winds storm around us on the ocean of this life, since our greatest imperative is to displease the wicked. But we should despise the wicked even if they are a great multitude, for they are governed by no leader, but are blindly pulled in all directions by frantic error. - Boethius

Thus, a good man, though a slave, is free; but a wicked man, though a king, is a slave. For he serves not one man alone, but what is worse, as many masters as he has vices. - Augustine of Hippo

Virtue runs no risk of becoming contemptible by being exposed to view, and it is better to be despised for simplicity than to be tormented by continual hypocrisy. - Seneca
