Emilia Perez may surpass Crash for Worst Best Picture winner if it wins, and how the fuck is it getting nominated for almost every category. Not to mention getting anything for best song when its songs are fucking mid. It has to only be nominated to make Wicked look better in comparison.

A Complete Unknown is pretty mid, but at least Timmy deserved his nomination since he actually did a pretty good job there.

Honestly pretty neat that two horror movies ended up getting multiple nominations, that's kinda cool.

Also the Best Animated Picture category didn't have Moana 2 so I guess that's fine. Pretty cool Wild Robot got nominations outside of that, perhaps I should check it out.

Dune Part Two really got done dirty, should've had a directing nomination instead of Emilia Perez and Complete Unknown

Anyway pretty funny of the Academy to put Two Monkey movies for Best Visual Effects

The dude that created Greg the Bunny made Anora? Fucking wild.

How on earth is the substance nominated for best picture but not Nosferatu
Because the Academy wants to feel brave by nominating mid like Emilia Perez along with oscarbait Generic Musician Biopic, and Wicked,

I guarantee if Emilia Perez wins it will be for purely political reasons as "See Orange Man, a Trans Mexican story won" even though both of those minority communities hate the film the most.

Which is ridiculous, since a French director made it all up and cast the film in France along with making a Spaniard tranny play a Mexican narco. Also, Selena Gomez and her attempt at speaking Spanish is atrocious. The movie is a free space for diversity Oscar bingo.

The substance had potential but goddamn that "men BAD" ending, you could feel the seethe coming from the mid-at-best french director when she chose the ugliest men in the movie to call the MC a monster, its like a femcel wrote that crap.
even though both of those minority communities hate the film the most.
Imagine if the chinese started using white people as a proxy for some bullshit culture war thing that's only happening over there, applies only to current chinese affairs and has literally nothing to do with us, our history and our culture, and its only a very small group of schizo whites over there making it up and taking advantage of it with the bulk of the profits going to the native chinese in the entertainment industry who are pushing that crap to the rest of the country.

That's how it must be for latinos and other minorities right now.

2024 is one of the few times I don't think I watched a single new movie entirely. Just to piss everyone off, give it to The Substance though. And I hate when they made it to 10 noms for best pic. 5's plenty and was until 2009. I always cared for the FX category, I guess Dune or Planet of the Apes.

Slim picking for sure this time overall, but has been since No Country for Old Men until Oppenheimer anyway.

Oh please god let this sweep every category

Edit: Just found out that by being nominated for 13 awards this farce in the now in the leagues of Gone With The Wind, LOTR, Forrest Gump and Mary Poppins. The record is 14 nominations.
