Zoe winning was a pity win basically, and this was the weakest set of Best Original Songs in quite some time so you could pick a nominee out of a hat and get something of similar quality. Margaret Qualley should have been nominated and won Best Supporting Actress in a just world, though.

I was only half paying attention through most of it just in case some shitshow happened (and I missed the first hour or so), but it seems like they've tightened things up to the point where anything seriously crazy like The Slap won't happen again, or at least made it a lot less likely, which really ruined the one reason anyone actually cared to watch in recent years. I mean, seriously, with how many flubs and fuckups they kept doing year after year, it was actually something to look forward to, or at least to enjoy laughing at the day after once people clipped it.

All in all, mostly tolerable, ran super long as always (and no, Conan, lampshading how long it runs doesn't make it better), less cringy than I would have expected outside of a couple moments. Glad that Disney got cucked out of yet another Oscar, and even happier that the tranny movie got blown the fuck out in nearly everything it was nominated for. Since I've heard Zoe Saldana was the only actor who actually did well in that movie, I guess they figured it was the only pity award they could give that wouldn't be obviously undeserved. Dunno why they gave best original song to it as well, judging by how much everyone hates the music, but that category was pretty meh anyway (and Sing Sing should've won it instead (very good movie btw, highly recommend)).

Time to not care about this shit for another year. Starting to think it's not even worth tuning in if nothing funny is going to happen.

As a side note outside of the Emilia Perez getting BTFO

Conan pretty much did a great show and really is a great contrast to how trash of a host Jimmy Kimmel is, honestly wouldn't mind him hosting again.

Also it is now abundantly clear that the Entertainment industry is playing "Kick the Autistic" on Drake.

My reaction to Conan being the host was "oh thank God they finally got rid of Jimmy Kimmel." And yeah, he did well enough outside of that cringe Orange Man Bad "joke" in the middle. Kept his segments short and sweet, actually told decent jokes (outside the aforementioned one), and just has a more tolerable personality in general. He's got his share of liberal retardation, but it's more bearable, so feel free to bring him back, Academy.

The Substance is definitely worth a watch. I watched The Brutalist and the acting and cinematography were laudable, but it's a miserable film and I'll never watch it again.

Don't bother with The Brutalist; it's really fucking bad. It's Hollywood kikes jerking themselves off in the worst way since that movie about the chick who fucked a fish. I am warning you now: find another way to spend three and a half fucking hours.

Anora's aight tho.
