OK. So essentialism is false in relation to sex but is perfectly fine for moral disposition. If it is possible to be ontologically evil, i.e., essentially evil, then it is also possible to be ontologically female and ontologically male. Thus Lucas is ontologically male, and he can do nothing to become female. This consequence is by your lights. It is a necessary consequence of leaning on the concept of essentialism. Essences exist, or they don't.

I've seen this word, ontologically, being used more and more. Especially regarding people talking about trans issues. Which leads me to believe
1. You don't know what it means because you just saw someone else say it.
2. Whoever used it first doesn't know what it means because ontology is a field of philosophy studying the nature of entities and reality. It doesn't mean categorically or fundamentally. It's like if you said something is theologically delicious it doesn't make sense.
