Otherkin Support Thread - Express Your Kin-ness!!!

I doubt you will get many serious replies since 1) you're on a website dedicated to making fun of "weird" people which is a filter in itself, and 2) people here don't want to powerlevel because of point 1).

I've gone way down the conspiracy/paranormal/esoteric/schizo rabbit hole and while I do think a large percentage of "otherkin" are just coomers who saw too much furry porn, I think the basic concept of otherkin may have some validity/basis.

My research has led me to believe that some form of reincarnation does exist, and it's possible that people with affinity towards certain animal species may have been that species in a previous life. In the Gnostic gospels there are also claims that God flooded the Earth in Noah's era because people were making animal/human hybrids, but this theory has a major hole in that supposedly Noah and his family were the only surviviors and thus the only ones that reproduced post-flood. (althoufh if you believe the Book of Enoch then some lived after the flood) Another theory is that many researchers into Atlantis claim that the people there had some type of kinship/genetic mixing with animals, and when Atlantis fell they scattered to different parts of the world and their genes became mixed into the general populace. Some also claim the Noah flood is a heavily edited version of the destruction of Atlantis, but I am not as sure about that.

Honestly cannot tell if you are serious. I would believe that you are telling the truth, but it seems really off that someone who currently identifies as otherkin would feel comfortable on the farms so eh.

Anyway:

So once upon a time, probably middle to high school, I did ID as otherkin. I first encountered the concept through the artist Christy Grandjean, who I watched because I loooooooved fantasy and werewolves. Absolutely no one IRL knew, because even being as autistic as I am, I knew to always keep my cringe interests to myself. I was on Werelist, and even made the jump to the new board made by Shiro (on all levels except physical) and interacted with him personally on multiple occasions. I felt like a cat, then a wolf, then a wolf with wings. I even briefly toyed with being a Twilight Sparkle fiction-kin. I was very deep in the fantasy, but even as a kid I was pretty based on the otherkin forums. I distinctly remember calling furries perverts and the idea of systems being pure mind-rot, and I caught some flak for that. But what changed? Why did I stop ID'ing as an animal? I moved out to the countryside in high school, no computer, extremely limited internet on my cellphone, and lots of chores, new friends, and afterschool activities. I couldn't be as active in the echo chamber forum, and I couldn't play WolfQuest to affirm my wolfish soul. It was a much needed detox. When I returned to 24/7 high-speed internet in college, all my old stomping grounds were so different that I couldn't re-integrate. I also found out that many guys and girls alike enjoy vagina, and I just happen to have one, so my free time was dedicated to more refined pursuits.

TL;DR: Don't let your kids roam free on the internet. That's how you get a child who identifies as demi-ace transgender with the soul of Pinkie Pie.

I had fun scrambling around and howling in the woods but ultimately the identity didn't fit me and I got a first-hand taste of the idea that you can be convinced of anything if people you respect say that they can feel your psychic wolf energy over the internet.

What's it like living as a neko day to day?

honestly I mostly just keep it to myself. It pretty much just a brainstorming thing in my mind now. I still like confined my self to tiny space or observing critters tho. And also consume cat videos and immerse I'm one of those.

I had a few dog behaviours as a toddler thanks to all the time I spent with my dogs and not being able to leave the house much due to being a sickly kid.

Nowadays I hiss at my dog, because she's so used to the cat hissing and scratching her that the sound alone is enough to stop her bad behaviour in its tracks.

Does this qualify for the autism club?

I think all people are otherkin really. Our brains are basically just monkey brains with some extra stuff glued into it, and the monkey brain is just a squirrel brain with extra stuff glued on. Otherkin are just more aware of their primal roots.
Although I don't think humans evolved from cats, so you might just be a mutant
