OTTAWA - The federal government is planning a massive increase in the number of immigrants entering Canada, with a goal of seeing 500,000 people arrive each year by 2025.
Immigration Minister Sean Fraser revealed the new targets on Tuesday, saying the move was necessary to ensure Canada’s economic prosperity as the country struggles with a labour shortage resulting in 1 million job vacancies.

“Our plan has a focus on economic growth,” Fraser said during an event in North York, Ont. “And by the third year of this plan, 60 per cent of new immigrants will be admitted under economic immigration categories.”

The plan envisions a flood of new arrivals that will see 465,000 people arrive from outside the country in 2023, rising to 500,000 in 2025, with a heavy emphasis on admitting people based on work skills or experience. At the same time, Ottawa is planning a more moderate increase in the number of family members who will be admitted into the country, and an overall decrease in the number of refugees.

Fraser sought to defuse criticism of the latter by noting that Canada was a world leader in resettling refugees in recent years, including Syrians, Ukrainians and Afghans fleeing conflict in their home countries. He also promised the government is prepared to handle what will be an unprecedented influx of applications from prospective immigrants wanting to come to Canada, with hundreds of new staff and other changes to speed the process.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has previously been criticized for a backlog of applications from immigrants and prospective permanent residents. The new plan comes days after Statistics Canada reported 23 per cent of people in the country are landed immigrants or permanent residents, which is the highest-ever percentage and top among G7 nations.

By 2041, Statistics Canada projects as many as 34 per cent of people in Canada will be immigrants.

My part of Alberta will be fine. To make a long story short, people only go where I live to work. Once they retire, they fuck off down the highway and only come back for shutdowns or projects. Having winters that last 5-6 months of the year and getting month long stretches at -40°C/F doesn't entice people to come by either

Lol, look to the UK for the plan. The cerco group was given a contract in 2018 to provide housing for migrants to the UK; under the priviso that it would be a growth contract. My two best guesses are:

1. The elites really think their power is completely unshakeable. They can't possibly lose power, so they import a bunch of under or uneducated migrants into wealthy countries to work slave-tier hours for slave-tier pay, hook them on government welfare so they can never risk doing anything against said government, and ruling in their own little utopia while the rest of the world burns.

2. The elites don't have absolute power yet, but by flooding countries with migrants and promoting racist hate narratives or organizations like BLM, they can destabilize society with little personal effort and prompt an eventual war that will be so destructive that they have a "legit" reason to end the charade, curtail all personal rights, and organize the world into a compact, highly efficient, but highly totalitarian dystopia.

Throw in destroying Christianity to either of those too.

Not even close. It's suburban hell with poor road design, the 65+ communities don't help because they often warp the cities around them and make congestion way worse.

There's a lot of neo-liberal and neo-con boomers who support this nonsense because "diversity is our strength", and "They do the jobs your generation won't".

A lot of the wealthy people I grew up with are some degrees of red-pilled to black-pilled, but lately most jobs have been pushing diversity committees and micro-aggressions reporting with the support of normies. Most (white) young guys and attractive young women basically want Trump, the liberals are boomers, ugly women, and immigrants.
