Overkill adds microtransactions to Payday 2

The subreddit was never bad. Most people supported Overkill through all the DLC and lazy updates, the only thing that has managed to piss off the community to this extent are the microtranscations. The game at release was buggy and bare, nobody wants that. People just seem to want microtransactions to go away so they can continue to buy new weapon packs for 5 bucks each without a shred of self awareness.

Maybe I'm a bit jaded, but every time Overkill releases something that one person might not like for whatever reason, somebody goes apeshit, and the same thing happened with the hype train and the Diamond and all manner of other things. They don't always freak the fuck out, but they've done it enough to be called pretty goddamn stupid, in my honest opinion.

The Hype Train deserves more hate than microtransactions do. It was an insanely shitty cash grab that encouraged players to blindly buy expensive DLC in exchange for unknown content from the DLC and shitty heists from the actual event. Let's also not forget that Overkill hasn't even released the secret COVK content and only released 4 mediocre masks to buyers. Not only that, it's very likely that the actual secret will just be a single random weapon skin.
The Diamond was all around a mediocre heist that should have included Clover to justify the price. Other than that, it had plenty of issues at launch which are now thankfully fixed.
