Overwatch

Downloaded the FTP demo today.

Haven't gotten much better. Only feel comfortable using Mercy and Tracer so far, and even then I do horribly in actual matches. (Though I guess that's partly my fault because Mercy is such an easy target.) I know this is to be expected for a beginner, but my other team members feel so much more competent and it's embarrassing.
If you have a decent computer, play on PC.

Anyone want to explain me the cancer that is 2 Heals, 2 Tanks, 2 DPS? Cause I'd really like to know why my competitive teams insist on this, rather than balance and counters.

If you want to master the secrets of being a healer you need to master lucio first. because you dont have to do anything to actually heal anyone just to be close, Lucio with a good Tank is a force of nature and alone he can wreck people in maps like Lijiang Tower,Illios and Nepal with his second Shot that push people

Tracer is hard to master because she doesn't deal enough damage, my friends call her the "softener" because she just go like a bee doing damage and letting the heavy hitters finish the job is not weird seeing pros using tracer and having like 50 kills because almost all of them are from support

I recently began to use Mei just for shit and giggles and wow, with her new buff i can kill EVERYONE, heal myself and keep the fight, i can kill freaking Genjis now with ease and her ultimate has a insane range that almost cover entire points, making captures easy, you can use it in point A of Kings row and nail a team kill if you know what you are doing

I can at least explain the "2 Heals" side of things - since all healers are on the squishy side, if you get into a team fight and only have one of them, that basically just paints a target on their face reading "hit me". Meanwhile, having two healers in this situation allows you to have one save the other if necessary.

That's not even the silliest form of that meme I've seen either. One guy I had on my team once went "tank, offtank, DPS, flanker, healer" and something else. And then something about no Junkrat since he's no use in any of these roles apparently.

It's the standard composition that's the most balanced. Reinhardt, a flexible pick depending on the map, which is normally Zarya, Winston or D.Va. 2 healers based on meta and team, at least one Lucio, 2 offense characters, at least 1 of which is Soldier/Mcree.

Junkrat is only good on certain maps at certain points, like the chokepoint at the start of King's Row, and the ramp/tunnel near the start of Dorado. But you should switch off Junkrat after these points.

Appreciate the advice. I'll mostly stick to bot matches and practice with some other heroes.

I have a Mac, unfortunately, so this is pretty much my only option.

Okay, so it's not just me that's getting annoyed with this. I can solo heal as Lucio just fine, dunno why my team always insists on a poorly played Zen vs. a character they're actually good at. I do completely agree with the Tank and Off Tank, that's how I won a good majority of my matches as D.VA helping support a Rein..

This is something I completely disagree with, as someone who mains Junkrat, he's still useful even after choke points if you know how to play him well. Granted, most people just play him average.

Guess the toxicity of the players is just getting me..

Can you post a screenshot of System Profiler?
You mean this?

A good Mcree/Soldier/Reaper/Genji will always outperform a good Junkrat outside of his choke points.

Tfw you guys don't know about the sick NiP strat. 3 tanks 3 healers, Ana builds ult super fast and uses the ult on one of the tanks (I believe the comp was Ana, Mercy, Zen, Rein, Winston, Zarya) to help the rest of the team build ult charge so you can always maintain ult advantage and keep pressure while playing defense. Great clutch strategy, has lots of success in recent tournaments. Seagull used it in his most recent qualifiers.

Essentially every fight you have 2-6 ults.

Is it called NiP because it's Japanese?

To be fair, she was always a counter to Genji.

It's weird, Mei went from being practically trash to infuriatingly annoying.

Remove Mei from the game IMO (not really, Mei is cool).
