I know that Tracer is a fictional character and shit, and although I don't care that she's considered a lesbian in canon, it feels something that was forced to appease SJWs due to a lack of "diversity".

Blizzard put it in because they knew it would stir the pot and get some attention. They don't really care about appeasing the social justice crowd, just exploiting it.

They've done this before, with the same character too. Tumblr and Twitter chomped at the bit over Tracer's victory pose where she stood with her ass facing the camera. Blizz "removed" it, and replaced it with a pose of her doing the exact same thing except with one knee bent so now it's a tribute to the pin-up culture SJWs fetishize for some reason.

I don't play overwatch but I don't think it was forced. You see another character with his wife and children - so what's wrong with showing a woman kissing another woman?

You have a point there. There's nothing wrong with showing a woman kissing another woman, it's the way they handled it. The execution of it all just felt forced, it wasn't mentioned as extra information in her bio initially and was implemented months after the game released. The one character with a wife and kids (Torbjörn I think) had that info in his bio already, with the game's release.

"Forced" is what Marvel does with its comics. You don't get much more on the nose than Captain Britain coming in and declaring this random Muslim woman his new successor, or Squirrel Girl accusing Iron Man of "mansplaining" on Twitter (and Iron man promptly apologizing).

This is just Tracer suddenly has a girlfriend. No one even says anything about how she has a girlfriend. The way they act towards each other and others is perfectly normal and toned down in the few bits which actually cover it.

Personally, I think the most groundbreaking revelation of this comic was finding out Pharah has at least one fully-intact appendage.

I think the thing about the Tracer Lesbian thing was really the "controversy" surrounding it. I mean theres been Lesbian fanart and porn of Tracer, day one. There was so much porn Blizz was sending Lawyers after it.

And now all of a sudden its "Neckbeard gamers are mad Tracer is Lesbian" news articles? I mean sure, there are always those super MRA Elliot Rodger types that think everything like that is some giant deal that should be fought.

But really I think the media inflated some minute faction of the internet in order to once again give Overwatch another elevation back into the media spotlight.

State of the game in the Master+ ranks:

• Tanks fucking everywhere, at least 3 tanks at once, sometimes 4 on a team. People don't whine at you for picking D.Va now (she can wreck an uncharged Zarya without a problem).
• Soldier 76 joins the meta since he got a lot of buffs. I'm seeing him in every game now. McCree joins Junkrat, Sombra and Bastion on the list of characters that are never picked.
• Symmetra+Torbjorn makes the tank meta even tankier because of the +150HP buff for everyone on the team.
• Nobody cares about Mercy. Ana is on every team because the heal output is far better and she has the tools to defend herself.

Common complaint is that tanks are now way too powerful, something that could be fixed by giving the underused characters some attention. I want to see Junkrat get a buff because I love that little shit.

The new meta is 2 heal, 3 tank and soldier 76. All the buffs + nerfs have rendered the old meta pretty useless.

Also i hope symmetra gets cancer from her microwave radiation, she does my head in now.

Competitive got incredibly uninteresting when every high-level game was just abusing tanks to death and frankly every match played out the same.

I got scared off from competitive play this season because of the Tank/76 meta. Especially the 76 stuff. In a game about playing a diverse range of wildly different playstyles it's disappointing when one of the most effective character is the guy who replicates the CoD/Halo experience.

I got 2000 in competitive and i won every single game by steamrolling everyone with Soldier 76, i feel cheated

Im laughing very hard right now because when sombra was released i made jokes in irc in plan"wow we hackers now, we only need tachikomas to make jokes of Ghost in the shell"

The new character may actually be released very soon. Looking at release dates, Ana came out in July, 2 months after the games release. Sombra came out in November, 4 months after Ana, and 4 months ago.

The devs have said that the next major content patch won't be seasonal, there's balancing in the works on PTR and a new competitive season starting in a week. Hopefully we should get her in early-mid March.
