Overwatch

Honest question, how long is Blizzard going to try and work towards dedicating most of their time and resources towards the unsolvable toxicity problem? Cause they seem to be putting more and more effort into it as time goes on.

Overwatch is a very popular game among Women. Blizzard is probably afraid of scaring off Women Gamers with the typical PVP shit-slinging people do all the way back to Counterstrike 1.6. Women Korean singers profess their love for Overwatch.

Plus I think a larger portion of the Marketing/Product Development/Social Media/e-sports management staff are Women, larger than usual for a PVP type game anyway.

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate

I'm not strictly against a transgender character being created for the game. It could be done okay.

I was more against the trend a few months ago where people demanded Blizzard turn one of the existing female characters like Mercy trans. Which was something that was hugely pushed on social media. To me just putting out a random trans hero to placate the sjws is better than the alternative.

I don't see how it's a stretch, the character is basically Ziggy Stardust. Maybe people are too young to remember.

I'm familiar with Ziggy; that wasn't my point lol. I'm saying that I'm weary by the particular kind of people who jump to exclaim "TRANS!!" when a person/character doesn't present as traditionally feminine/masculine for their sex.
 
Fired up overwatch again to try Moira in ptr. Mechanically she's an interesting approach to the support roster, which was desperately needed because of Mercy overtuning. Then it dawned on my why I can't stand to play overwatch for more than a couple rounds: voice lines are spammed automatically for every little thing you do. This is especially apparent with Moira because her lines are more drawn out and cringey in delivery.

Default attack: voice line.
Heal: voice line.
Secondary skill: voice.
Alternate fire: voice line.
Ult: REALLY LOUD VOICE LINE
Kill: voiceline.
Etc. Etc.

Unnecessary noise on top of more noise.

I really should check the options for that..

the only time i ever played overwatch was when i was being a lazy shit and decided to play it at a friend's place
lets just say i beat his hanzo with zenyata (fucking hell i dont care about spelling) and i was a first time player.
shows you how easy the game is really.
also blizzard made tracer gay (no i didnt mind that, i just hated how people tried to force the "OH SHE IS THE PERFECT LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ CHARACER" kinda crap that has been still classed as "52+ genders") (sorry if i went off-topic a bit it was just a rant)

seems more like a ziggy stardust hopped up on a whole lotta heroin and a lust for cybernetics like wilhelm (except they actually made wilhelm work, here its just a ginger dr octopus like Y2K said)
 
Lol Moira is just every stereotypical Irish woman rolled into one. The moment I heard only the name I went "ok, redhead, short hair, lithe build, and from either Dublin or Belfast" And wow was I right.

On the other hand, finally got around to playing since the mercy rebalance, and god it's annoying that now I have no excuse not to main her. Like, I fucking HATE playing babysitter for lemmings, but nobody else ever takes her and she boosts win chance up so much now that she can just casually ressurect your tank or defense. So I'm stuck choosing win or fun.

And before you say it, yeah im probably just salt that im not good enough to play Lucio or Ana, pointing it out doesn't help.

while overwatch is definitely easier than other games, you killing a bad hanzo in casuals is not what makes it easy

it was a reletively good hanzo, not a bad one.
and that was my first time aswell.

When you first start you get put with other low - avg players. Trust me most qp Hanzo players are...something else.

Brigitte is the first new hero since Ana that has a design I actually kind of like, I just think it's ridiculously contrived how much the game is trying to reinvent the support role and trying desperately to make the role look "cool" or "exciting".

Like, guys, it's support. We know what we're signing up for when we pick it. It'll never be popular, I'm sorry.
