Overwatch

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I’m legitimately curious just how low OWL’s watch time would be if it wasn’t for them basically bribing people to watch (and by watch I mean have it muted in another tab, which per the Reddit Fags of all people is what they even do).

But, because Blizzard are retarded, they’ve balanced this entire game around the autists in their propped up E-Sport. And that was before the OW2 team threw 6 years of Balance off a fucking cliff by doing down to 5v5. I uninstalled the other day - the fun is mostly gone, especially with how much they fucked matchmaking where every game is a stomp one way or the other.

The Porn of Overwatch will outlive Overwatch.
The OWL was a failure from day-1. The whole thing was astroturfed, they scammed Twitch, promising that it would bring a ton of viewers. The Battlenet program had the OWL playing in a tab that you couldn't disable, they put ads that auto-play their Twitch channel in every page of Wikia to boost the numbers, etc. I wonder how the OWL is doing now that it's on Youtube.

New patch just dropped. Four weeks to push four numbers changes, three of which are nothing more than slap on the wrist nerfs to the token nigger reps and the batshit broken weebshit waifu designed to sell skins. Even the bug fix list is looking famished, with the knuckleheads over at Blizzard "fixing" the footstep bug for what, the 5th time already? Still no sign of any of the features from OW1 that got stripped out of OW2 for some reason (find a group, on fire, end-game stat summary, the workshop editor and inspector is still MIA, etc).

lol no one played the game for PVE and i doubt they cared about it being the next big thing in the first place. everyone hates the game now and its so funny to watch it die slowly.
You can't play a game for PVE if the game doesn't really contain PVE.

There is almost certainly a large segment of players that prefer to play co-op rather than competitive and it would be another thing for Blizzard to "borrow" from TF2. There is also a large list of shooters that can be played PVE (Division 1/2, Destiny, etc) so it's not like there isn't an audience for it.

That said - I think Blizzard said it and then just couldn't think of anything to do with it (and still can't). Do they make it like TF2's MVM mode (progress is confined to individual games only) or do you have a larger progression path (aka like Destiny or Diablo) that players can really grind in? They clearly don't have the talent to support any kind of innovation or consistent release schedule though.

Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft publisher Activision Blizzard has claimed NetEase declined an offer to extend its publishing deal in China.

As reported by Reuters, Blizzard China published a statement to Weibo claiming it contacted NetEase earlier in January with an offer to extend their deal by six months, allowing gamers in the country to continue playing the likes of Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and other Blizzard titles.

NetEase declined the offer according to Blizzard China, however, meaning the discontinuing of these game services will go ahead as planned on January 23.

"It is a pity that NetEase is not willing to extend services of our game for another six months on the basis of existing terms as we look for a new partner," Blizzard China said

The company claimed in November that it was looking for alternative ways to bring its games to China but no concrete information regarding how it might do so has been revealed.

World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Warcraft III: Reforged, Overwatch 2, the StarCraft series, Diablo III, and Heroes of the Storm will therefore all be unplayable as of January 23. Diablo: Immortal, Blizzard's controversial mobile game, is published under a separate agreement and is therefore unaffected at the moment.

LMAO
I hope selling out to the chinks was worth it, ActiBlizz.

I liked that NetEase offered Blizzard Green Tea, which called Blizzard a bitch in Chinese. It was also funny seeing NetEase destroy an axe statue.

Blizzard really deserved this anyways, especially when they sold out to China a few years ago.

This is going to be interesting for the financial side of things, shit is going to tank quite hard. It will take months to set up a new deal too, so the problem is going to last a while.

That's also assuming a new deal gets setup and this isn't a cover for Netease to release a carbon-copy/reverse engineered version of OW2 that's CCP approved.

Most companies aren't ever successful in setting up a new deal - Google, Facebook, Youtube, etc.

rumor was the only reason they even went back to netease with that retarded 6 months deal was because couldn't find anyone else and thought netease will cuck out so they can shop around in the meantime.

instead they hurt the feelings of the chinese people which probably makes it even less likely anyone will wanna team up with them, and given the public nature they can't just bribe the politbüro-plant to look the other way.

looks like the retards they hired over the years climbed high enough to finally reach management.

I unironically did in battleborn, and that wasn't even some shitty endless horde mode. a proper pve mode can be fun, key word being proper.

Never played Overwatch, but the drama it's had since the early days is the gift that keeps on giving for laughs. I never tire of reading the latest bullshit.
In my experience, the best of the Overwatch fans are the one’s that’ve never touched the game and know it exists entirely through the porn.

If only because they’re the least autistic. You’d think Blizzard would’ve capitalized on them - there’s a group that always seems to have excess money to burn…

LOL Blizzard stopped releasing risque avatars around 2018. They will never release anything remotely eye catching as witch Mercy ever again.

And this goes for ALL their IPs. See the barbarian woman in Diablo 2 remake being covered up, Alexstrastza in Dragonflight being covered up etc.

I mean, they don’t have t deal with Chinese censorship for the foreseeable future, so maybe they’ll actually try to appeal to a market with apparently excess money to burn, looking at the Porn Games thread…

Wait no, Blizz is still full of diversity hire, the Rainbow Brigade, and their ilk. Snowballs chance in hell, send Rainbows…

They would have to focus more on pleasing BlackRock, WEF (before the WEF inevitably kills them off, because video games go against their ultimate vision) and the like, and make sure that they don't do things to tank their ESG scores too, so in some ways, this is even worse in regards to censorship, given how games like Forspoken came out in 2023.

tbh the porn was always milquetoast normie shit even when it went full /d/, because that's what most characters are. wow, futa tracer....

There used to be some decent fanart/porn on tumblr back in the day before they got all censor happy. Now it's all just meh and AO3 is obsessed with McHanzo or whatever they call it now. Boring.

With the fans' attention waning due to Blizzard sucking more than anything seen on pornhub, we might never get any good.... fan art.... again.

Half the Overwatch community is full of perverts.
Is it really only like half the OW community? I thought OW porn is more popular than OW game itself, am I wrong?
Okay, I was kinda joking, but for more serious part.

I mean as in OW is probably second to FGC promoting trannies. Like, last year they have this, see "underrepresented genders"?

EskayOW, support main mostly Lucio, I have a long post of his coomer thoughts on twitter.

Recently, a trannie streamer, EveeA got caught for being a pedo. Being a mercy main. Two videos feature him before and after come out as trans. Not that worth watching if you wanna know what his voice is like.

Another support main, Brigitte one trick, Violet is a trannie, once featured on Blizzard app, oh no deadnaming

This one is like some dark comedy.

Kobe Hammand, Haley. a former Boston Uprising support player comes out as trans. Impressive that he still has this tweet with his deadname on.

An ex-OW contenders player, Doggo-Emma. How it started vs How it's going part A and part B. Everything happened within a month. His twitter handle though, very self-aware "mentally ill emma".

On the subject of Overwatch and sex, there's a "Sexual Harassment" gametype making waves in custom games and video game journalism.

The name itself is embarrassing, why even play it?
cause it might be fun, simple as.

didn't they all went "underground" and behind patreonbux? haven't looked in ages but there was still new stuff floating around on certain sites. or maybe they just mod skyrim/hs/vam and do whatever they want without having to depend on someone else.
